I know I'm new here, but I feel the need to add to this one. First off, I have not had any blown tires yet. knock on wood of course. That being said,
all my landings are between 100 - 200fpm. To me it's strange that most of you (and I say this friendly) are ok with the "under 800 ft/min" as someone
said. 800fpm is a hell of a lot of pressure on those tires with an aircraft that weighs that much. Even a 4-500fpm landing is considered "hard" in a
737 type aircraft. My suggestion for all of you who are starting to hate FSP because YOU can't land properly should rethink things. Maybe try landing
using a program that registers your touchdown descent rate (like FSACARS) and practice those landings. Or think about getting the FS Flight School
program.

I also have to say that my having a couple thousand hours real world flight time isn't the reason I'm saying all this. I'm sure there are tons of
other people that own FSP who aren't having blown tires, and are not pilots, or this thread would be 20 pages long. Practice makes perfect... or at
least good enough to not blow tires.

Could be a framerate thing. When i used to fly FS9 i had a lot of hard landings (because of low fps, in FSX i have better framerates )
And i think because of this my FSX landings are almost all kisses and also haven't had any blown tires since release of FSPX.

Well but if you blow a tire I'd say you are just not ready to fly a big plane.
I had this two times but always it was random and not because of my descent rate.
It is maybe a bit too hard adjusted when a tire explodes but it shouldn't be disabled.

I think your landing configs could be wrong, and the way you go about landing the aircraft.

First of all, calculate your V-Speeds and Flap settings, which will give you the most effective approach down to the threshold.
Reaching 50 on the GPWS, I idle the throttles, and flare slightly.

Now, this is what I think you could be doing. I think your getting down to the threshold, stil at lets say 140, and you flare at like 20 feet, thus
slamming the wheels into the ground, causing them to blow. If you could run through how you land, I'm sure we could find a problem there which could help?

I have now 22 landings in FSPX, two were pilot error crashes. The rest have been fine with no blown tires. I'm not sure what the problem
is. In FSPax for FS9, the gear would be damaged badly above -500fps. If you aren't landing at less than -350fps, you need to practice, not
complain. The program is fine, your flying is not.

And no, I'm not a real world pilot, just a simmer who had to teach himself how to land properly.

I am for a way to change the max or min decent rate ....
The reason is simple ...not every simmer has a joystick or a PC so they can run at 20+ fps
So by being able to change these values, those people can enjoy FSPX as everybody else ...
You dont want to change it ,you dont have to ...but give the people the choise.

Its all about enjoying FSX and FSPX .
But hey ....what do i know

Well I have to agree with Valoran. No comment that's how it is! And I am a learning-by-doing simmer, too.
And Powerke, well I flew some time without joystick and now I have one for...I don't know....maybe 20€ - very simple but it is just a must have to get
more realism! I don't think there are much people who are so interested in FS that they buy addons but have no joystick.

Well i have a very decent joystick myself (Logitec Force 3D Pro) and i have very little problems landing my planes.

But there are already so many things you can disable or change in the config file...that the option to change
the tire blowing decent rates would not be a big issue for me.

I prefer it like it is actually ....but as i said before ....let the buyer of FSPX make that choise.
Not everybody is a hardcore simmer ....and i believe that the casual gamer should be able to enjoy FSPX a bit too.

Its not that implementing this option would hurt the core of the simmers ....its not that it will change anything for us.
You are not forced to use that option!!!

what actually appens when one tire blows?
How FSPX simulates it?
Lately appened twice that just after touching down my plane suddenly banked to the left of 90° and crashed!
Could it be related to this "blowing tires" issue?

I was one of the first asking for a patch or a decoy in this matter.... and, to be humble and honnest, I must say that I don't need it anymore!
I practiced, again and again. i realized that I was more obsessed by the threeshold (touching at the perfect point, no matter other aspects), than by a smooth kiss.
So, I came back to the basics: flying with my butt.
I disengage the A/T before the glideslope, and the autopilot much farther from the runway. The rest is a question of feeling, trying to land the monster as gently as possible. Et voilà!

i trained hard for landings those days, and it is not fault of program, ots a fault of pilot today i landen with damaged engine and fuel tank
on 737, withou problems of blowing tires, i get much + points and im so happy that i made it
BTW, i noticed the tank fuel is damaged by the outside view during a flight, co-pilot didn sad anything, was something wrong? when i fly
into birds he everytime notice me, but now he didnt anythink about fuel and about engine too, so i didnt called emergency, because i
noticed that when i was aproaching into runway and fsxp didnt take me point s from i didnt called emergency, but gaved me + points
for landing with problems
