Most of the previous VA's I've flown for just list flight hours beside your name in the pilot roster. I still remember flying into Banff and trying
to make a dangerous crosswind landing that I shouldn't have even tried in the first place.
There are also alot of freeware and payware flight logs out there that can be used for your own personal information. Many of these have
the different types VFR, IFR, etc... in them and are also configurable fields that you can set up yourself and type in any information you
want there. It only takes about 5 minutes to fill in all the blanks to store your flight.
The size of the report would get rather large on a transcontinental flight too.
You could send an attachment or a seperate email to the VA webmaster explaining the reasons why you had an emergency landing. I
think that the current log is pretty well detailed for most people and that you should remember if you forgot to deploy the flaps, etc... I
agree with Brad and Bart also in that most VA websites have seperate links and emails for detailed pilot records to be read by everyone
else. Some VA's forums have a place where you can post all the details of your flight to other pilots and anyone else logging on the
forums.
The rtf option would work fine for sending the flight around as most people can open it without any trouble
Just my 2 cents.
