Sorry for digging this up, somehow I forgot about this thread until now.

However, after start you DO set the engine anti-ice, and the wing anti-ice if needed.

Yeah, guess I was confusing that with de-ice...

Flaps are set BEFORE TAXI.

That's aircraft dependent then because in a 727 they should be set while taxiing - but before taxi is probably right for modern airliners if you do
it that way.

actually I have a copilot so lights is not an issue; except she insists on trying to turn them off during the climb checklist which is around
5000 feet. and wanting to wait till approach to turn them on which again is way below 10K
