My FsP checklist to make points and avoid penalty. - Yann Collas - 16-08-2005 Hi all, I have my own checklist to avoid penalty when flying. I wrote all my actions when online and flying with FsP. I think that it will help those who are looking for have more points and no penalty. Enjoy ! Thanks to FsP team for this great add on. Here is my checklist. Re: My FsP checklist to make points and avoid penalty. - GoonBird - 16-08-2005 Great idea - and nice work, thanks for posting it. Are you shure that the nav light shouldn't be on before loading pax? And that you can retract flaps fully before settin gthe parking brake? I've tried what you described (a while ago) and sometimes I got penalties, but I couldn't quite figure out why... -Fred Re: My FsP checklist to make points and avoid penalty. - jboweruk - 16-08-2005 No problem with lights, as long as they are actually on before taxi. Same on flaps you can retract them fully once off the runway along with Landing and Strobe lights. Re: My FsP checklist to make points and avoid penalty. - Ryanamur - 16-08-2005 Very nice, perhaps you should post it in the Tips and Tricks. My only comment would be to specify which kind of aircraft this is for. If flying GA aircraft, you would have minor modification like Flaps/Gear not retracted before 500' on climb... Phil Re: My FsP checklist to make points and avoid penalty. - Yann Collas - 16-08-2005 Hello Ryanamur, This checklist can be used for GA or Airliners aircrafts. I just gave things to do to avoid penalty. The pilot must act according to the airplane he his flying as you said for GA aircraft for landing gear and flaps. Here more tips : - For flaps all pilot must have a serious look to speed to avoid flaps crash. It goes faster with big airplane or bad pitch on take off. - Pay attention to automatic pilot while taking off. It can be a disaster to forget an autopilot activated while rolling. - Check the vertical rate of climb, be sure it's a positive value before autopilot activation. - Be advise that accepting a rolling take off while flying online is a way to forgot things and get penalty. As a pilot in command with passengers on board you may be sure that all checks were done before rolling. Yann Re: My FsP checklist to make points and avoid penalty. - SWAFO - 16-08-2005 It's a good thing to set the NAV light on when you first get in the aircraft. That way, you don't have to try to remember during taxi. Technically, the light should be on anytime someone is aboard the aircraft (that is capable of flying it). Other than that your tips look good! Re: My FsP checklist to make points and avoid penalty. - astemland - 16-08-2005 hey. thanks for the checklist to try to not loose so much points. (which have got too much....) ciao Anders Re: My FsP checklist to make points and avoid penalty. - pagir - 16-08-2005 Great work! Maybe you can add while climbing: [ ] Stay at or below 245 kts to avoid 250 kts penalty or ask for free speed Pagir Re: My FsP checklist to make points and avoid penalty. - GoonBird - 17-08-2005 Quote:jboweruk wrote: Thanks - guess I was just a little too fast on the buttons and levers... -Fred Re: My FsP checklist to make points and avoid penalty. - SWAFO - 17-08-2005 Quote:Thanks - guess I was just a little too fast on the buttons and levers... I find myself having this problem with women all the time! Hmm... ![]() Re: My FsP checklist to make points and avoid penalty. - nem - 17-08-2005 Great list, had been doing something like this myself but haven't gotten as far as this. ![]() Some questions... (Brad?) Quote:AFTER STARTI think depending on conditions you'd set wing anti-ice on as well. Not engine aa though. (At least that's what it says in my 727 checklists.) Prepare AP... I'd put that somewhere before starting the engines, along with "set FMC (if applicable)". Quote:AT HOLDING POINT READY FOR DEPARTUREAFAIK flaps are set while taxiing (maybe it has something to do with hydraulics). And for the sake of people new to FSP I'd clarify that you shouldn't turn on strobes and LL before getting the actual takeoff clearance (or position and hold). On take-off you don't necessarily apply full power (quite seldom in jetcraft actually). And two more items for Approach or Landing: - set Autobrake according to RWY length (if applicable) (in most cases set to "1", emergencies set to "max") - arm ground spoilers (if applicable) Nothing else to bitch about though, looks great. ![]() Post Edited ( 08-17-05 08:22 ) Re: My FsP checklist to make points and avoid penalty. - lightrail - 17-08-2005 and for taxiiing - I set NAV/GPS to GPS and then I can read off the GPS ground-speed from my NAV display (not all aircraft) - airspeed can be something quite different depending on winds. Re: My FsP checklist to make points and avoid penalty. - GoonBird - 17-08-2005 Should have seen that one comng from a mile off, Brad... ![]() -Fred Re: My FsP checklist to make points and avoid penalty. - SWAFO - 17-08-2005 Quote:nem wrote: For the most part, looks good Nem. However, after start you DO set the engine anti-ice, and the wing anti-ice if needed. Note that the wing anti-ice must be turned off prior to beginning the takeoff roll (at least at SWA... some airlines do it differently). As for the FMC... that's set before pushback, and updated if necessary during the taxi, and when at the departure end of the active runway (if needed to do a position update for LNAV). Flaps are set BEFORE TAXI. As for light use, see here: http://www.fspassengers.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=314 Here at SWA we don't use the autobrake on landing (only during takeoff in the RTO mode), so I can't be of much assistance with setting that. The captain will arm the spoilers as part of his landing flow. Hope that helps... if there's anymore areas you'd like clarified, don't hesitate to ask! |
