There are loads of games that have alot of violent content, even children have games that involve beating up another player until they are knocked
out, i think that it would be a fun thing to do having to fly contreband and it wouldn't be unethical, it just gives that little bit of excitement
into this game =D im sure many of us have played a War game or two, or even a strategy game such as Age of Empires or Command and Conquer where the
purpose of the game is to destroy the enemy at any cost.

The only thing that this would have is the word "Contreband", which compared to shooting another soldier or taking ur army to whipe out the other
players army, is nothing.

i am all for the contreband flights =D not because im a bad person, but because it's just a game and its also a good thing to have fun.

there could be an option to disable it, but im sure the first thing a child would think when seeing the word "contreband" wouldn't be anything serious
that could do harm to another person and they might not even know wot it means, however if they do think of harmful products you'd want to watch your
child very closley lol

I agree with Xandan, "contraband" is very mild compaired to nearly everything else out there. The level of what it means is all in the
player's mind. All the term means it something not lawfully allowed. Maybe we're smuggling in sales of fspx to contries that have outlawed
it :P I don't think a parental code is needed, the warzones already in have a more "unholesome" (for lack of a better turm) flavor to it than
smuggling flights do.

In flight medical emergencies being added? :D Me likey :D

reach the Azores.

Before that, he was at first a bush pilot, but he didn't made enough money. So... He decide to ferry Cocaïne... and he was caught and
went in jail for some years...

Dan, you can implement this feature (I'm not big fan: "contreband" can be anything, from slaves, to CIA prisonners, to ivory to cocaïne...), but it should be very
risky, with lot of money, but hard effect on reputation and on other things, like the ability to repair the plane (since you can't rely on good mechanics). Only non-asphalted trips should be allowed (or something like that... you don't want to bring your illegal stuff at JFK). And with a risk to end career in jail, as you said...

yeh if you get caught you get fired and sentenced to Jail would be a good feature, it would keep you on your toes lol

To render the adventure more challenging I was thinking about a "detection parameter" wich would depend of "morality" of your company
and the fact that you are close from big airport and that you where jailed already or not.

Such parameter could be displayed as "risk factor" in mini display with a random margin so you are never sure if you'll be catched at 50%
70% or 95%

If catched the plane would be confiscated (sold without income), your flight income lost, and your pilot jailed for 2-3 years (first time and
more next time), this would mean why not that you can't flight with him during 3 flight made by other pilot in company. Or simply shown in
the "career display" ? (you lost already much money)

Like this the more contrebande flight you make , the more "stealth" you must be (avoid big airport) and the more risk you have to be
catched.

I think anyone will put in such flight his "bad guy" fantasm (wich might be better than doing them in reality ) for me I see that much
as "Henry de monfreid" adventure if you know. (a famous sailor of last century that wrote great book) Romantic and true adventure. I would
take pleasure to do contrabande during first half of last centuries pretend to deliver "goodies" to the "good guy". (lawrence d'arabie period why not?)

Don't forget that delivery of firearm during wwII war to resistant was also illegal, one might do the good finally by doing the bad.
I understand howewer considering your job that you might not see the "romantic" and "adventure" aspect.
As said everyone will imagine his own scenario based on his own view of what mean "contrebande" for him.

The technical aspect is still not fixed howewer... I should still brain storm about that.

I'm all for it!

I'm very happy because of the "aerobatic" flights: I never really used RealAir's Siai Marchetti because it was so boring flying it like a c152
(one has to because of the penalties), and I never fly without FSP.

I also think that adding a checkbox to enable/disable this "smuggling option" would be wise because it would close the mouth of those
against it. But not only them: In future reviews, having this checkbox will be commented by the reviewers as a very thoughtful
consideration by the author (remember the comments of "screaming pax option"?) and will never be listed under the title "The things I
didn't like".
I don't think there's a need for the humanitarian flights to have the same option.

(Beside, what was this guy Badapp1e saying; that there were no humanitarian flights to Bosnia while the war was going on there? Or Croatia?
"My" airport -LDSP- was open throughout almost all the war! Man!!! Even Sarajevo airport was receiving help and C-130's were being shot
at and damaged while performing that steep approach!! People from Sarajevo had dug out the famous tunnel below no man's land
covered by snipers to the airport! Why in the world if not to be evacuated by humanitarian flights!?!?And what about Tuzla???...
Not all parts of a country are affected the same when a country is in a war! That's why it's never good to elevate a personal experience
(like the one he had) to the level of the principle. )

And one last thing: will this "aerobatic flight" option be a part of FS9 update? I ask because I didn't/won't buy FSX SIAI.

Hi Dan / All !!!

Long time no see / writte because lot of work @ job.

I just read the last news and all seem to be very good & fun !!!

It's a so great idea to add some fun stuffs like "contreband" flies !!! Dan you're a master but we know that yet !!

By the way and over all I've read something that makes me crazy but I'm not sure of what I read so I'd like Dan to confirm it :

what about delays ie you are at the gate and a passenger is runing late, the pilot has the choice to either delay the flight or remain on
scedule. also passenders under the influence and so on.

Hi Dan, I can understand your uneasy feeling about "Illegal" flights especially as it implies drug running or something orf that sort.

But you could combine the fact that war zone flights are not "officially" done with making humanitarian flights into war zones with the goal
to remain undetected from enemy spy planes or radar the goal of the mission. The purpose of such flight could very well be to smuggle
first aid, food, medication or personal to places in need. Such "missions" (at least for me) would alleviate the feeling of "uneasiness" in
being
Rewarded for "illegal (with the assumption of law breaking) " flights (I hope that makes sense?)
I guess the is the reason of having this feeling of "uneasiness” is because of the assumption of lawbreaking when doing illegal flights.
This scenario however would preserve the humanitarian aspects and I would certainly enjoy the game play better! I am rewarded for
helping others instead of breaking the law!

It’s completely ridiculous like killing a fly with a bazooka, FsX is not a game for kids and even 20 years ago
Involved contraband without anyone questioning such things. (Apart maybe some extremist?) 70% current games involve killing
Peoples or enemy with often mass of blood and details, not to speak about some cartoon and TV shows or news. There is no question
Of that in FsP, not dropping even one bomb or shoot one bullet.
What you think? Debate is open! Morale or not, fun or not? Parental code or not?

If you feel my concern or suggestion is unwarranted or impractical, I would support such an option as 2nd choice.

I vote to keep the original idea BUT divide the Humanitarian flights into
a) Peaceful areas (high recognition (as the flights can be made with public knowledge) low income OR
b) Conflict areas (Low recognition as they are "secret missions" high pay as they are greater risks involved)

Either way the choice and game play is preserved BUT helping your Fellow man is always the aim of the task (the "illegal" after taste
Would be removed.

I was thinking about making other types of "zone": War Zone, restricted zone, security zone...

Each with some different features.

First, it could avoid the war zone over Washington (converted to "Security zone" with alert from the ground).

All those zones can be updated by the web...

I know it's not *that* hard to keep that updated.

It could also be era linked.

So if someone wants to bring firearms to the Resistants during WWII...

I'm for the idea of "contraband" runs as it does add a sense of realism but I would like to bring up a certain question I haven't seen asked yet:

If this feature is added how much longer will we have to wait for FSPX to arrive in our grubby, waiting paws?
