First I'd like to wish you all an happy new year and lots of great things for 2k8 !

Well I'm a french simmer flying the virual skies with FSX.

I discover FS Passengers some few weeks ago and as all of the people here I'm hardly waiting for the FsP X !
I hope that the VA management and exportation tools in php/mysql will be implemented in FsP X because I'm a part member of a VA staff
and we would like to use FsP X to manage it and our pilots careers.

So Dan let the idiot be idiot !

For information I've contacted this one who pretends to make FsP working with FSX on his e-mail since a week and I'm still waiting for his
answer...

Last thing is a one I'd like to propose to Dan.
I don't know if you plan it Dan but it would be great to get FsP in different languages.
So if you are interested and as I am french I'd like to propose to you to make a french translation of FsP X.

Just contact me by e-mail if you are interested in it (you should have it, shouldn't you). :o)

Yea Aksakhirn, language system would be awesome! But!, as a programmer, I know Dan would need to spend much time making it, and I mean MUCH time. Who can't read English these days? :-)

Thanks for offer , howewer there is some problems about that. (did you saw that there is already a translation in french for menus at
least ?)

First there is about 7000+ lines of text to translate (that are embedded anywhere in the code)
Second, translation would cause some "text" problems... one line in english may become two lines and screw the whole presentations of
reports or dialogs. And third text is often embedded in RTF tag... for example:

So one can't roughly translate all that as you may do with a simple text file, one tag error or mispelling and all is screwed.
Also a lot of texts may appear only on some rare and special situations, so it would be difficult to beta test that.
Also this long and hard work should be done also for spanish, german (loooong lines) italian etc etc.

All that make me think that I'll stick with english and keep only menu translation.

I know it's a damn hard work and I don't mean to be disrespectful but considering the fact that with XPax there is another program covering this part
of FSX (even if not as perfect as FSP) I wonder FSPX will make it in time....

As drew say not all the code need rewrite, for now I'm already able to make "FsP" flight and register reports.
Still it miss some special features as somes failures and some advanced functions. All this to say that it's
hard to give a date, sometime I solve 3-4 problems per day and write many lines and sometime
I get stuck one week on one problem and write only 4-5 lines (crucial).

What take time is not things that you can acceed with the SDK so I can't predict when I'll find the needle in the haystack .
If FsP would relly only on SDK as other programs it would have been ready since months.

Ok for the translations ! I have not seen yet that there will be a translation for the menus so it sounds great.
For the others texts I was thinking that they will be in a specific file so translation would be a "simple" thing to do.
The way you tell it will be is in fact a hard way to get it translate so no problem I can go on in english !!

For Dan I'm not a developer myself but I know why : your job is like you say it is and that's the reason why I can't bear with programing ! I'll
love to do but it's too hard for me to spend one week to debug just 3 lines or a missing " ; " at the end of line !!!

Well, when the time comes I'm sure the Boozecrew will be a perfect testbed
If the program can survive both HBs and my own flying skills it will be more then suitable for the general public, not mentioning flying leg

Thank you for the good work in advance.
I too am a simmer that now uses fsx and I'm eagerly awaiting for the release of the new software.
Flying is just too boring without for great software.

I too would love to be a beta teser like hundreds of others here

News: FsPx will support multi-screen display, you can choose by option to display all dialogs on left screen or right screen.

Appart that flying with two LCD on a res of 2560x1024 is amazing... love it

This only give a poor idea.
