Dumbest thing you ever did in flight.

Dumbest for me, making a perfect landing in a 737 with autobreak set and everything with one "minor" error. i forgot to turn off the
autothrottle so the engines reved up to keep the speed up after the breaks applied. By the time i realized what was wrong I went right off
the end of the runway then across a field and slammed into a building at nearly 100kts. OOPS!

Funniest thing I did in FSX was fly a superjet WAY up to about 700k ft., then switch to a small plane like the 172 or ultralite, or a glider.
Talk about a FUN descent... Especially once you hit one of them highly exagerated flat spins that FS does when the physics engine can't
keep up.

What'd be cool is if that new EMAS system could be simmed in FS.

ok, here we go. been away almost a year from FS9. got a new fat-a*s machine with enougth gfx card to boot. grabbed the ol' fs9, sunk 4 weeks into
installing current ai traffic and got the ol' FSP back out them shelves.
New company, 2 cherokee sixes and off we go.
delivery flight was shaky (hefty x-winds 'n all) but nothing to write home about. First scheduled flight - ad-hoc charter from Magdeburg (EDBM) to
Westerland (EDXW). Me being an idiot, file a flightplan from Magdeburg (EDBM) to Heringsdorf (EDAH). Both holliday resorts, but on different sea's
*doh* and not to mention the 100nm difference in flight distance. So here we go, ATC expects me to go towards the polish border, while pax think we're headed towards the danish border. *OOPS*

Ok, so I refile with ATC for Westerland mid-flight with them pax not noticing *BUT* i didn't quite calculate that Westerland will require a
substantial amount of fuel *more* than Heringsdorf - why am I going eeeee-aaaaw in my head by now?
Ok, so before I drop out of the skies for fuel starvation, I cancel the destination - triggering my pax to rapidly download some brownware - and
file with ATC to get the bird down at nordholz airforce base. They permit Visual RW8 and what do I do ? I glide down visual RW26. *eeeee-aaaaw*

ATC bitches for not being cleared to land that way, I ignored it and got them pax off the plane. And that's when the party piece came in - I got awarded 70 points for making a monkeys breakfast of everything 50 for making a perfect sub 100ft/min landing and 20 because canceling the original destination for "safety reasons" was obviously a "responsible choice".

still. quite one of my worst flights in terms of being an imbecile at the yoke.

my first flight:


Flying the strato jet excalibur and having the flaps rip off becuase i left them down, and when i come to land, i get the wrong airport, so i
change to the right one, fly over a war zone, lose engine 2, lose all fuel, i manage to land, AND FS9 CRASHES!

going for the first time to Boston and when I was final approach at 1700ft I noticed the my glide slope didn't activated so I was looking for
the problem but didn't found it . then I got the incredible idea to land the plane myself (PSS 777) I disconnect the autopilot but I forgot to
turn off the flight director wich causes the airplane to bank more then 30° to the left. so then it was already a struggle at 1000ft I turned off
the FD and saved the plane with still 300ft from the ground and made a go around. then I checked what went all wrong and my conclusion
was the I didn't confirmed my ILS frequency in the FMC. tha pax could forgive me for the steep turn but not for the hard landing after
668FT/min.

On EBBR: i use the Dreamfactory scenery, but I forgot to delete my old afcad file of the EBBR scenery I had before.
I had a perfect flight, taxi to gate.
On the gate, i had a 10-20 meters left to the buildings, I decided to go closer until 10m.
Wrong decision: scenery was okay, afcad said 'the wall is here, not there'.

I applied my brakes, and just before the complete stop 'crash'...

Second one: apply parking brake instead of the normal brakes after landing...

Ow, and a frequent mistake with ILS: don't come in as necessairy.
I turned AP on APP, but forgot to line up with ILS properly.

So, 2nm before the runway I see that i'm still at 2000ft...
Make a steep descent (more a crash than a descent^^) and hope that you can slow down in time (and that the runway is long enough)

mine was more of a stupid mistake on Microsoft behalf, last night flew from KDFW to KSFO took me over 3 hours due to headwind, then
when i came into KSFO i hit a strong crosswind, low clouds and visibility, im not 100% competant with the CLS A333 AutoLand/ILS Hold,
so flew it manualy had a nice approach floated gracefully over the runway decided that it wasn't going to float to the runway so applied the
spoilers, which brought the aircraft into a downward drop into the runway the suspension compressing as expected but too much weight
to quickly drove the tail into the ground aswell, so i went around as by this time the remaning runway was no where near enough, came
back around landed nicely again without hitting the tail for a second time, the no.2 throttle stuck open at 60% unable to select it again for
some reason, so i ended up straying over another active runway in the process of trying to stop the a/c after taxing the entire length of the
terminal for a parking spot, i decide to park of pier due to no on pier stands, so i get parked up, engine spooling down, start unloading
pax, reaches 30 pax, "There is not enough memory to continue running this application, therefor microsoft windows will now close
Microsoft Flight Simulator 9"


YOU F******** B***** i could have thrown my laptop out the window.

I just did one tonight. Took off, set autopilot to climb to my cruising altitude and set autothrottle to cruise speed then left it and went to eat
dinner. Came back about 1/2 hour later and noticed I forgot to set the nav on the AP. So here I am 200nm in exactly the wrong direction and I had only
loaded enough fuel for my flight plus an hour so I could take more cargo. Needless to say now I make sure everything is set and check the map a few
times before leaving it on it's own.
