How do you earn money?

If I was to start out in a small aircraft and gain 500 dollars net after each flight it would take me 2,000 flights to gain a million dollars. I
don’t suppose FsP expects us to actually fly 2,000 flights our selves? Is there a way to simulate flights and perhaps virtual FsP pilots?

You can't in real life start a small company flying cessna 172 and expect to buy a 737 even some years later, so this is realistic.

In FsP your income for one flight is multiplied by a factor, for now it's 50 but it will perhaps need somes tuning after massive beta testing
(for now tester seem satisfied by it)

So in fact you can expect to buy in about 20 flight the same type of aircraft you are flying, the tips is to upgrade slowly to have more
capacity and more income..

If you want to start a company in career mode you may still start with a $50million company, at first you buy small aircraft only until your
pilot is qualified for jet type than you buy your first jet and try to buy more...

This said you can choose your cash at start of one company from 3mo$ to 600mo$. and don't forget you can buy old aircraft that cost less
but may carry their how set of risk...

Anyways, thinking about it FsP is very open and you can define scenario setting for company creation...
using those scenario you can set whatewer you want as income multiplier...
so you are allowed to set even 200x for income multiplier... in a couple of flight you might buy a bigger
airplane, then from this one a bigger etc etc... in 20-40 flight you might be able to buy a 747 starting
with a cessna...

So thanks to the multiplier you could theoretically assume that other pilots are actually flying for you, you just don't see or pay them. Could
the factor perhaps also in some way be tied to the number of aircraft you own? Or is that too difficult at this late stage?

The factor is here to compensate the time... you can't fly 9'000 hours as the company
do currently with their aircrafts before buying another one...

mhhhh I must think more about this and discuss with others.

That would solve one bad things: even if you hown 15 aircraft you can only fly one at a time
so you will not gain much for having one or 15... this might be discouraging...

The factor must be set also by aircraft type... you don't want to add a +50x factor to your 737 income
if the other plane is a cessna 172...

Will think more about this and reply soon... I must think about all possible odd side effect.

737=40 ton = 40x
172= 2 ton= 2x
747=200ton=200x

so lets say you just flied your 737, you have a 242x multiplier... !!??

scratch scratch....

Well... other plane weight might have only a part of their weight taken in account

Mhhhh I must make some more test but I think I got it....

Total Income=((Income of this flight*Base factor)/MTOW)*square root(Total weight of others aircraft/100)*1000

Say you fly a 737, you earned $25'000 on your flight

total aircraft income=$1'500'000 (x50 base factor)

Fleet income if you hown also a 747&777=$2'163'397
Fleet income if you hown only a ATR42=$237'552
Fleet income if you hown only another 737=$479'353
Fleet income if you hown 737 777 747 atr42 a319 a320 a330 tu154 = $5'272'792

It seem the calculus is good because the less you earn the less your fleet earn
also the number don't go crazy if you have a big fleet (my first idea showed $200'000'000'000 income for a big fleet


The end-of flight report may show one "fleet" line just before final result:

Flight income: $1'500'000 (x50 multiplier)
Fleet income : $479'353 (1 aircraft)
Total Sim income : $1'979'353


Of course you will have reduced income for bad flight and no fleet income for crash,
also I think to make the "fleet income" optionnal when you create your company...

The only odd things come for the statistics: what to do with those "ghost" flight... I cannot include them
in the statistics....

Maybe you just assume an average quality. So income would be still based on your performance. Unless you just factor it in as average
pilots across the fleet, thereby somehow cut out your income after a screw up, and take it as income before X the multiplier then add the
players actual income after? If you get my drift.

example,

player flight earns 23000
player crashed = 0
fleet earns 23000 * #aircraft in fleet * weight modifier (eg 1X737@200) total $4600000
player earns nil
total fleet income then =$4600000

That work?

I'm sorry I can't give any help in this topic.

But if you can get this thing working it would be great, giving a reward system for the number of aircraft would make the feeling great.

I was thinking is should be based on your overall flight result... if using my previous calculus you should
get a fleet income of $1'000'000 and the overall satisfaction is 50% <you would get only a fraction of this amount
I'm searching right now a exponential calculus so 100% overall result mean 100% fleet income but 90%
will get only 50% of fleet income and such... only excellent flight without any fault are rewarded...

got it: should do about this:

(flight result=fleet income percentage)

100=100%
90=80%
80=60%
70=40%
60=20%
50=0%
40=0%
30=0%
20=0%
10=0%
0=0%

Notice this is the OVERALL result of your flight, your passengers may be 100% satisfied by the flight but if you forgot
some important things you might get no fleet income at all...
