Is FSPasX + Vista 64 a no-no?

I keep my Commador 64 on folding metal TV tray and place the ol' 9" B/W TV precisely on two cinder blocks across the room. I keep the

I'm a firm believer in the Thermaltake Toughpower PSUs. I'm going to upgrade from 700W to 1200W Thermaltake PSU as soon as I
upgrade to a EvGA 285 or 295 card. The current PSU wouldn't be able to handle a monster GPU.

Problem Solved!
I love red herrings! Thank God I didn't reinstall FSX, reinstall Vista, or other time consuming issues! I retraced my steps on this and here is what actually happened: I had moved my case, which has an open cover so that my cooling solution works properly (i've gone into great detail on this at Avsim). In moving my case, a freaking 12v wire had partially come out of its molex connector and appears to have intermittently been touching the side of my LianLi case! After reseating all drive connectors, I turned her on and SMOKE began oozing off the partially pulled out connector. Oy! In any case, I replaced this segment, WHICH HAPPENED TO BE upstream from the SATA2 drive power connector to the VRAP drive that FSX sits on! Oy! In any case, all's well, I was able to fly from KPDX to CYVR, only to blow tires upon landing! Anyway, thanks for your help. Also Joe, I decided to track my temps carefully partially thru the flight by running in windowed mode with Core Temp running in the tray. She stays around 58C at peak load at 3.9Ghz. This is a VERY favorable temp for a core temp under these conditions. I have a Quad Extreme, and that is a perfectly fine temp for that CPU. Again, 70C is Intels spec for core temp sustained max I'm pretty sure, having looked it up when I built this. I can run at 60C or lower any time I want, because my cooling solution entails A/C air blowing by 4" ducting directly on to the CPU, memory, and GPU. I've done this for many many years with no issues, on different overclocked machines. Some have said it's dangerous, but it's fine cuz static is not an issue, nor is microncondensation, as I don't run it that cold. What's nice is it's temp adjustable, and ANY machine works with it, which is why I've used it for years. I have a small A/C unit that is mounted thru the wall of my room, and I built some cowling to get the thing to blow at a LOW flow rate, directly where I want it to. Most of the problems people have with Vista are problems they are too f*cking stupid to fix, so they decide post a huge blogstorm about it.
Vista is perfect for me, the OS is perfect, FSP is perfect, everything is. It was indeed ill informed advice about Vista being bad. Post Edited ( 10-03-09 02:42 )

XP may be "old and outdated", but for many users it is fine, just as Vista is fine with you. And watch your mouth sonny boy. Many of
us "old and outdated" folks take offense at your tone. This is a family forum. If it's stupid, but it works, it isn't stupid.

I asked that very question a month or so back.....
I think you have to change the file titles manually to hear another piece of music ( change song4.wav to song1.wav ( sorry I don't have access to my fsx computer so I don't know the actual file names))...I don't think there is a way to do it automatically. I'm still waiting for that window blow out and decompression - sounds like fun.

It's not just computer illiterate people who have problems with Vista. Many professionals with years of experience hate it, too, and with good reasons. You may not agree with those reasons, and Vista may work fine in your little world, but that doesn't make Vista any less crap, and it doesn't allow you to dismiss valid criticism. One of the major ridiculous flaws in Vista was User Account Control (UAC). A Microsoft manager eventually admitted UAC was designed to annoy users, so they would pressure developers into writing better code. The nerve. Sure, you can disable UAC to avoid the annoying prompts, making it useless. That retarded software strategy is crap, and that's just one example.

There is nothing wrong with Vista as long as you know what you are doing. If you screw something up in Vista, it will.........hate you. The
only issues with Vista I have ever heard with Vista were the "'User Account Control" - which you can TURN OFF, insufficient hardware, botched together custom systems (harware mis-match) and excessive user erorr.
