There should be a penalty for not complying with ATC commands.

Like whiskey-zulu says the ATC of the FSX is sometimes very troublesome and can not be always followed and there are good reason not to obey it blind.
But there was no 'go around' ordered if I remember right. It's a time back now you must excuse.
As far as I remember it was an approach to Nice (Nizza) from the south. The FSX ATC doesn't knows the approach as they are in the charts and indeed put me
into the wrong place and even more troubleing the wrong altitude as consequence of the wrong place. (hills)
When there was a mistake then the mistake was that I obeyed it for too long. If something than this put my plane and passenger in danger.
The somewhat harder landing 'solution' then was my decision because I am used to do hard landings if the circumstances and my fun level (it's a sim) speaks for
doing that. Honest I don't see a landing with about -403fpm as really a safety problem for passenger or plane but obvious FSPX sees this different. (no it was not a
hard landing independ FSPX failure but what I can tell)
Now I am no real life pilot and can't tell how realistic tire blow is with-403fpm but I can tell that this FSPX limit kills my fun because I want to have the freedom to
land with up to -500fpm and still be able to taxi to the gate.

-> The Tire blow isn't really the real problem for me, I could care less, but what I don't like is that I could not finish the flight the normal way by taxi to the gate and
shut it down proper.

Tendential I approach faster than recommended for the A320. Where it's no problems in all the A320 sim I ever flew (and there are a number) in the wilco the
plane gets an overpowered lift you can not compensate with the elevator control anymore. You are forced to reduce the speed to the recommended level to get it
down. But the speed reduceing in wilco is slow and has resistance this you will figure when you approach from higher and shorter as usual.
I don't like this resisting behaviour of the wilco. Sure if you always approach the proper way with 10nm distance and thrust control it's no problem and you
probabily never figure out the control behaves somewhat strange In my opinion.

I had once an A320 simulator in the pretty early ages where you could directly control the descend rate with the stick. (A320's electronic flight control). Sure that
was probabily simplified but somehow I had expected such a smooth working control in wilco also. But at least during landings with a little more speed it doesn't
obeys your stick control anymore at all.

I can handle that if it has to be but it seems strange and all wrong to me. I am looking forward to the new realistic as it get's A320's planes that are in development
since years. I hope that at least one of this 3 developers really finish their product.

Yeah,...granted, the fsx atc is poor but I was thinking about penalties for not declaring missed approaches and not doing a go-around procedure...that
might (maybe) make a little more real.....

The rest of the flight can be done as you like...

The number of times I've been told to 'go around' by FSX ATC can no longer be counted on both my hands and this is when the runway is empty and I'm
number 1 for landing, so...

OH! I've never experienced that.....I use traffic X so my airports and air can be pretty dense at times.....but, if fsx atc is really that flawed,
then it's not such a great suggestion. No biggie.

I don't know but I don't think so. We had to wait almost 2 hours in the plane before the flight took off. They exchanged the whole wheel.

thats happened to me before. i think the reason for me was that i was a cessna172sp and the aircraft behind me was a dash-8
so even thoue im number 1, hes faster, bigger, on a IFR plan, and on a scedual (airliner) so he would have got priority.

i have an idea about how to satisfi both sides of this tier blowing thing. the idea came to me at work, so i dont think it will work (since it
came to me at work and nothing there ever works) but i will mention it.

tracker mentioned that his real life airplane would be dammaged if he landed above -400fps. but it would not nessacerilly blow a tier.

so instead of it giving a blown tier, what if it just gave you landing gear damage. the damage would get more sever and expencive
depending on how hard the touch down was. all the way up to what you would actualy have to hit the ground at to blow a tier.

As I've said before in this forum, I land my 772 pretty hard and have yet to blow a tire, but have forked out alot of cash on new gear struts cause I
keep bending them, but only a little....

Sorry to bring this thread up again.

In relation to this tire blowing:

Q: Does anyone have experience with the Wilco A320 Autoland and how hard or week it touches down?

I am about to set up FSX on a new PC ( I am installing things for FSX on that PC since 5 days! Ok I am going slow on it have no rush.)

Today I did a Test-Flight from Zuerich down to Sardegna/Olbia and used the Autoland on the Wilco A320, something I close to never do.

It worked fine but the touchdown was a little rough. I haven't FSPX installed so I can't tell what the descend rate on touchdown really was.

Does anyone have experience with that and can tell if this Autoland lands within that -400fpm limit?

What is the average value of this autoland?

I used to land with autoland engaged in Wilco's A320 before but very often in severe weather conditions this turned out very dangerous and tyre
blowing. I'm landing manually ever since and I must say I do enjoy it

i think we dont need an option like that. cause its not so hard to land a plane smoothly! i will teach you how;

first, choose your aircraft wisely, know your aircrafts specifications before fly it! for example:

*blowing tires generally means that you are too fast to land. on the other hand, modern boeings are very fast aircrafts and its a real
problem to make them slow down, especially in landings(even default b737-400). so, use them when you learn how to land.

*the easiest dont have to be the smallest in every case. if you can land cessnas basic versions then fly with boeing 727s to learn how to
land a mej class. 727s are the easiest aircrafts to land. they can land with ultra slow speeds. thats what you need. exercise with loaded
727s. when you learn how to land 727, go on with airbus A300s. yeap im not joking. eventhough its a wide bodied flying monster, its a
perfect balanced aircraft. in fact most balanced aircraft i have ever seen. it does everything you want, very easy to slow down or maneuver.

second, always land with nose up, therefore main landing gears can touch first. main landing gears are made for carrying all the aircrafts
weight. front gears can not do main gears job!

third, you must engage your autopilots airspeed holder. i choose 135 knots for wide bodied jets and 125 knots for narrow bodied jets.
when your copilot says 30 or 20 to land, shutdown your autopilots all functions and let your plane flow and land smoothly.

last, be parallel with runway every time. dont make too hard descents. (landing is so easy that in fact you can land smoothly while your
copilot becomes insane in some cases, my copilot screams that "ur descent rate is high", "watch the descent rate", "gentle on the stick
look at the descent rate" or something like that at 1500-1000s. but i landed smoothly even in these cases. so the important part of landing
is after copilots "300!" scream.)

suggestion: do not exercise landing without fspassengers. cause fspassengers has dominant role on your aircrafts flight dynamics.
flying without fspassengers wont teach you anything.

suggestion 2: you can slow down your game speed at the altitude of 1000s. so u dont miss anything when u land.

suggestion 3: we always tend to accuse the games when we cant handle them. dont do that! try to understand how it works.

suggestion 4: work hard!

fspassengers is the best project on flight simulators i have ever seen. perfectly designed. thanks all the makers of it!
