I know I'm new here, but I feel the need to add to this one. First off, I have not had any blown tires yet. knock on wood of course. That being said,
all my landings are between 100 - 200fpm. To me it's strange that most of you (and I say this friendly) are ok with the "under 800 ft/min" as someone
said. 800fpm is a hell of a lot of pressure on those tires with an aircraft that weighs that much. Even a 4-500fpm landing is considered "hard" in a
737 type aircraft. My suggestion for all of you who are starting to hate FSP because YOU can't land properly should rethink things. Maybe try landing
using a program that registers your touchdown descent rate (like FSACARS) and practice those landings. Or think about getting the FS Flight School
program.
I also have to say that my having a couple thousand hours real world flight time isn't the reason I'm saying all this. I'm sure there are tons of
other people that own FSP who aren't having blown tires, and are not pilots, or this thread would be 20 pages long. Practice makes perfect... or at
least good enough to not blow tires.
