You don't have to fly long flights. Right now, I'm actually working my way up through the ranks in a Beech Bonanza A36, flying an average
of an hour or less on most flights.

Uhm...most airlines have most of their fleet moving as much as possible. An aircraft just sitting around doesn't earn any money, so to
simulate real world operations, FSP assumes that all your aircraft would be flying, even if you're not at the controls.
