fly every flight - griffin - 29-08-2005 do you have to fly every flight or can you let it automatically simulate that the flight took place to earn money etc for the airline. Or whats the point in creating several pilots then? Re: fly every flight - jboweruk - 29-08-2005 You have to fly any pilots you have. However if you have multiple aircraft and you fly a good flight you will earn income from the other planes as if they had flown for you. This is not AI flights it's a multiplier to reward you for having more than one airplane. Re: fly every flight - griffin - 29-08-2005 but theres no way of making the AI fly all the flights..and you can just choose one when you want to fly? Re: fly every flight - Plane Nuts - 29-08-2005 Nope. In my opinion, that wouldn't be much fun. So far I have two small aircraft and two pilots, one of which I actually use when I fly. But my other aircraft makes money for me every time I fly, which is called fleet income on your post flight reports. Re: fly every flight - griffin - 29-08-2005 well i think it would be good as you dont have to spend so long on one flight..and fleet income isnt very realistic, why would they all even be flying at the same time. If it had such a feature it would sell it to me..but i guess not Re: fly every flight - Plane Nuts - 29-08-2005 Quote:griffin wrote: You don't have to fly long flights. Right now, I'm actually working my way up through the ranks in a Beech Bonanza A36, flying an average of an hour or less on most flights. Quote:griffin wrote: Uhm...most airlines have most of their fleet moving as much as possible. An aircraft just sitting around doesn't earn any money, so to simulate real world operations, FSP assumes that all your aircraft would be flying, even if you're not at the controls. Re: fly every flight - Vokial - 29-08-2005 FSPassengers is focused on flying your flights and the challenge is to satisfy virtual passengers as they were real ones.. this is not a strategy game where you have to manage your fleet and the AI does the flights... flight simulator has been created to let people be virtual pilots, not virtual tycoons, so if you remove even the main part of the game, why should people buy flight simulator and fs passengers? Re: fly every flight - Plane Nuts - 29-08-2005 Quote:Vokial wrote: Very good point!! ![]() Re: fly every flight - SaVas - 30-08-2005 FSP works with what YOU fly, not the computer and AI aircraft. It is based on your flying skills, and the fleet bonus is just that...a bonus to help you get a few more virtual bucks to buy more aircraft you want to fly, that you would not otherwise have to puchase them. Consider them YOUR passengers and not the AI's passengers. Reason for creating several pilots or a back up pilot anyway is incase you have a crash that you cannot save everyone from and your pilot either dies or is hurt. If he/she "dies" then you have your back up pilot as you cant resurrect a dead person. if he/she is hurt in the crash it can cost lots of your virtual money, however if you use your back up, within time as you fly your other pilot, the one that was hurt will heal without costing you any money. Re: fly every flight - DanSteph - 30-08-2005 Of course all answer here are right, just to put also more emphasis on this: the fleet bonus was done because it would not be fair for people that make a career and buy regullary plane as their rank grow, they will end with a lot of useless plane that do nothing. You can of course sell them but I thought that this additionnal bonus could really be a nice things. About insight: You get the bonus only in case you made a good flight (no way to earn anything in FsP for bad flying) You get the bonus only from "non-flying" plane in good state (no way also to buy cheap plane in bad condition) It was not done at all to simulate an "airline tycoon", this is not the main point of FsP.
