If you fly so close to the maximum speed you take a risk of overspeeds.

I think you misread Spectre's post. He indicated that Vmo is .85 but did not say that he flew the aircraft at Vmo...instead, the sudden windshift
brought the airspeed quickly past Vmo....quite typical without a wind smoothing application.
