you sure about that just kidding.
Perhaps this not a good time to make jokes
How to manually edit number of hot foods allowed?

Alright, well I just finished my flight from CYVR to YSSY (14 hours and 40minutes), and I got 100%....Only barely though.
I was at 98% do to passengers being hungry, then I played some music, and I was back to 100%. Pretty lucky no ? No penalties either. Though I did not really get the most out of my food, I wasn't timing as JayKae does, I am sure if I did I could have had a longer flight.

It already is possible to serve 3 meals!

An option for long flights is to just use the setting "no crew". This means that the meal service and passengers getting hungry, etc, simply isn't
being simulated.
300,000 km/sec. Its not just a good idea, its the law.

I think it is only right to ask the creator for something, we pay for a product and expect that product to work the way it should. In the US it is
your constitutenal rights to question your government, it should be the same here. Don't knock the guy because he is asking a question that he can't find an answer for. When Dan or whoever made this program, perhaps he didn't think that anyone would fly a long distance, I think as a programmer myself, I would enjoy getting tips to make a good program better.

I, and a few others have made long flights (mine being over 14:30h), and I managed to get the pax to their destination at 100% satisfaction, so it can be done. You just need to be very careful when to serve meals. Quote:In the US it is your constitutenal rights to question your government No doubt, who wouldn't question George Bush ? as far as the two year wait thing, the limit on food is obvisouly programmed to say if 2 then dont allow anymore, I dont think it would be too
hard or time consuimg to edit this value, pack it and load it to the site, update! could be done in 5 minutes. if (usedHotFoods > 2) { cout << "You have no more hot foods"; //other actions //blah blah// } change the 2 to a 3 granted I dont know the code, but it cant be much more complicated than that.

Again as said, if you plan your flights right, you can do without letting anyone go hungry, I just flew a 19 hour flight without anyone going
hungry :faq:

As far as priorities, I really don't care, I have no time to ever make a 12 some odd hour flight, but im arguring for the case of people who would like this. It has been a problem for quite some time, and regardles of prorities, this is not a time consuming fix. If it was and was not that big of a problem then I would understand, but in this case I don't see why this has been cast aside for so long. Post Edited ( 11-29-07 19:17 )

In the end of the day Crowe, if Dan would have to change that a whole new beta test has to start as well just to make sure that the change
did not break anything else somewhere else. Furthermore, a small thing like that will invite others to ask him for other small changes, it would create a domino effect and we do not want that to happen. I have been a programmer and system engineer for almost 10 years for IBM now and if there is one rule that I live by it would be the following: "If you do not have the same information, don't tell others how to work with their information either". What I am trying to say is that there are too many variables that could "break" the whole program and for what..? As I have just said in my last post.. I do regular long hauls and my people don't go hungry so I once again do not see why I CAN do it and others cannot, is it just my timing? Do I spend enough time actually planning when to feed ? I dunno ... you tell me. :faq:
29-11-2007, 11:19 PM
i dont know, I don't do long hauls so I never care, nor do I really care if this got changed. I understand that whole breaking problem, and
the other fact, but this is somthing that was suppost to be addressed a while ago I thought, its not really a request, it was somthing that was going to be done. Like I had said, I have no idea how Dans code is set up, my perspective on how this limit works does not appear to affect any other part of the game, but if It does I do understand the hassel it could be: http://www.pilotsnetwork.com/LoZGC.swf im creating a tile based engine, with window support all dynamically in as3.0 and I do have variables that would affect more than one thing that are simply numeric if changed, and going through would suck. I am just trying to argue in favor of people who many not be as advanced with the program who do these long flights and dont know the exact timing for when people will want their meals. Not everyone here has been using FsP for 2+ years and knows the ins and outs, but this has been a problem for quite some time considering the amount of times this has been brought up. If It can't be done it can't be done, nor at the end of the day do I care, but just becuase you have it figured out does not mean everyone else does, and if it is a simple fix I do not see why Dan cannot do it. I respect what he has done, it is a great program, so noone should look past that. To solve all simply tell Dan this: A suggestion to improve FsP: increase the number of hot meals by one - problem solved Two: with fspx, maybe made these types of variables moddable, (which you have done for penalties) that way users can change this stuff around as they please.
