Few more challenging approaches: (default airports for these do exist in fs2004)
Tlaxcala, Mexico: ICAO = MMTA (nice connecting flight for MHTG. (only 700nm away). Note the pole at the end of the rwy in the default fs2004 scenery.. ![]() Aspen, USA: ICAO = KASE picture: http://www.silverlakespalatine.com/websi...es/ase.jpg Bronson Creek, Canada: ICAO = CAB5 picture: http://aviation-safety.net/database/airp...php?id=YBM (nicely situated between the mountains. However, default airport in fs2004 has no concrete rwy. (gravel) Adak Island, Alaska: ICAO = PADK Rost airport, Norway: ICAO = ENRS Lugano airport, Switzerland: ICAO = LSZA picture: http://www.airlinefanatic.com/wp-content...qv43du.jpg Reggio Calabria, Italy: ICAO = LICR picture: http://www.aeroportoreggiocalabria.it/wp...c_1116.jpg Madeira, Portugal: ICAO = LPMA picture: http://en.structurae.de/files/photos/f00...sta_ne.jpg Most challenging airport of all: Rotterdam airport, The Netherlands: ICAO = EHRD picture: http://www.uit123.nl/meerweten/abo/4agsqzj03ylogo.png picture: http://www.kammair.nl/uploads/images/Rot...irport.JPG ![]()

Hee we can make it challenging by requesting everyone to fly under the 3 bridges instead of over it, while approaching the field..

Aye Arjen, they are nice suggestions, just need to see what I can do to make it work in such a way.
I've been thinking about scenic tours of around 2 hours each like visiting the Grand Canyon and making sure you wont go above a specific FL so you will have to stay in the canyons ![]() Will make for some interesting flight planning on a pilots behalf ![]() Thing here is though, that we need to make it work for both FS9 and FSX
31-01-2009, 12:11 PM
True. not sure if the grand canyon will work. But the alps, Himalaya and Rocky mountains sure should be at the same height in both FSx
and FS9. And perhaps HB little program can come handy (it works for both FS9 and FSx, right?) for the creation of some scenery? ![]()
31-01-2009, 05:37 PM
Yes, indeed.
But as FSET would then become a mandatory download, HB would go crazy of all the help requested ![]() Besides, as we have to merge FS9 and FSX it might even be more likely we go for default airports where the members themselves can choose to fly with addons. So no more mandatory downloads. The only mandatopry downloads would be the charts and route, and maybe check weather. This all does have one huge benefit..... DBE does no longer have to search for the appropriate scenery, giving him more time to fly eith the rest of us ![]() The thin line here is, that weather youre a veteran or a newbie to WorldTour, you should be able to partake at any given time without the fuss of having to search an appropriate addons for your FS version. Creating seperate WT for the 2 FS versions will be too much, so its a very thin line and delicate were walking on here. In any case, this one will be a lot of fun for all once again ![]() And to make sure many people enter the flying challenges, must preferably online, we will make this one as easy as it comes to downloads. We will have very experienced flyers online (like yourself) to guide the newbies around at all times. Hopefully we can get this into gear by May 1st, but as mentioned, this will be a very extensive workload to get done. I dont mind doing the work actually, as long as many have fun ![]() Mark might even consider adding 2 mods to the WT site, 1 for each FS version, just to make sure it continues operation and lessen his workload.

I like LOWS, but I always had problems with the freeware scenery....either CTD on final or horrible frame rates prior to touchdown.
Something about that airport scenery has always caused me problems, but it sure is a fun airport to land a 744 ![]()
