You say your third attempt went pear shaped, mine were going pear shaped after dozens of attempts and even now I still manage to
prang it, and thats not just the Learjet. Like Wally said, Practice, practice and practice. You will manage it eventually and won`t you feel good when you do. Happy landings.

For me the Lear seems to be overly sensitive compared to other aircraft. If I breathe on the stick it flails about in the air wildly while ever
other aircraft I fly, mostly POSKY seem to be quite smooth and forgiving. Taking off in the Lear is hilarious, I just touch the stick and it whips straight up in the air, then I scream and yell and try to level the plane and it dives straight for the ground so I pull up and it goes vertical straight up in the air again and I give up and take off again using autopilot as if I were flying with the keyboard. Needless to say I stick to the GA aircraft and the POSKY jets. ![]()

300,000 km/sec. Its not just a good idea, its the law.

Thanx for all the help
![]() After the frustration with the lear I decided to stick to the turboprops for a while until I racked up enough cash to help myself to one of those Antonov AN-148's ![]() Just greased a visual approach into Kaliningrad in the LET L-410, that was really good for the battered self-esteem ![]()

![]() somehow I'm doomed when it comes to jets. Flew Samborski's AN-148 today (outsideFSP) - or more precisely tried to - a 70-seater for 18.000.000 isn't that shabby a deal. Well first thing, it's all metric ![]() VERTICALLY. needless to say I didn't even make it to departure frequency befor ramming the thing into the ground. *SIGH* guess i'll be flying embry-airs and dahes till the end of time ![]()

FINALLY MADE IT
![]() ![]() The posky CRJ-200 is worlds apart from the default lear. I got the thing down manually at Khrabrovo's RWY 6 without ILS, its perfectly controllable and I even scored a kiss landing, so I guess its definitely the default lear being a mess ![]() 39 moaners... erm...pax delivered successfully, now we're talking ![]()

I clocked in some "training" flights over the weekend in the Antonov AN-148 (getting used to the metric stuff is rather difficult, as you're constantly converting), so that'll be my next target ![]() ![]()

Flying jets in fs2004 is supremely frustrating
![]() I'm pretty sure I must do something wrong, the second flight in the CRJ-200 went pear-shaped as well. On one hand it is imposssible to stick to props forever (especially as the Dreamwings Q400 crashes itself while standing on the ramp) I'm really starting a big time frustration with it ![]() not the worlds best pilot, but not being able to land those things AT ALL, is quite think :S

Do you use the airbrake to control your approach speeds? It's "/". I also deploy flaps incrementally to lower speed. You've gotta come in
right close to stall speed and don't flare quite as dramatically as with a light prop. Also, something I have to constantly remind myself is that you get the 50 points for a nice landing whether you touchdown at -10 or -249. You don't have to float down the runway until you barely squeak the wheels. Anyway, keep at it and you'll eventually get better. ![]() Charlie don't surf!

(not directing it at you, nor was my first post) I always hear about "Oh I can fly a plane because I play FS" Well people out their have been working their arse off to get into the Air force, of even fly commercial/ transport planes. You have to go though many tests, work hard, and do tons of training to get in an Air force. Then you meet a kid who thinks he can fly a simple plane because he plays a Microsoft flight simulator. Yeah it teaches you ATC and procedures ect. But it is way more stressful if you are in a busy airport environment, and you can't just click the X to get the ATC to 'become silent' when they start to become annoying. You can't lallygag your way to the runway, go get a drink and take of when you feel like it. The real world is a lot different then a flight simulator, not easier in anyway. Having AI aircraft running though your FS plane won't kill you ![]() Just my two € (closest I could find to a cent sign on my keyboard ![]()
