You rotate

thats when you pull back on the stick. (or yolk) and start climbing.

Morning,
V1....Being rejection speed. VR...Lifting the nose gear off the runway slighty. V2...Flying speed. For my CRJ loads most of the time I set the following speeds which FO Otto will call out (most of the time). V1 125, VR 130 and V2 135.
Retired from USMC in 1970.

Rotate is pulling back on the stick to get the plane to come off the ground.
