Flight is aborting everytime I use acceleration!!

Actually, you can make decent money on long haul cargo only flights because you won't be taking any paxs...or maybe 5-10 paxs with a
jumpseat config. Again, it's a personal preference on whether or not you want to use acceleration, but do it at your own peril....sim-wise
that is.

Real pilots flying real airplanes in the real world also use time acceleration on long flights. Except they call it "sleep." They get up and leave the
cockpit. They *have to have* relief pilots on long flights. The pilot who takes off is not the same pilot who lands the airplane.

Flying a 12-hour route over the ocean in real time is improving your piloting skills how, exactly? It's only wasting electricity. Staring at the
screen or getting up and doing something else is not going to make you a better pilot.

Of course, 128x is excessive and pointless, because even if the software could handle it, you would not have time to react in case of an emergency.
But a more reasonable rate should be fine.

Hey, we've hashed these opinions over time accel before. If FS was strictly meant to be run at 1x, it wouldn't have accel. Having accel just makes
it more versatile.

Everyone has a different experience running FSP. Me, sometimes I run with accel, sometimes not. Short flights are great, and getting immersed in a
"realistic" flight scenario at 1x is great too, and certainly very admirable. But I do like making long flights too, and for me using accel is the
only way to achieve it. Ultimately, FS and FSP are simulation tools to be used as each customer wishes. So tell me again all about how I'm doing it
"wrong".

Well, before this discussion gets out of hand on debating why we should or shouldn't use acceleration, how about we end it here. The
author of the thread got his answer even if he may or may not agree with it. Besides, this thread doesn't belong in the customizing forum,
