This works great! Thanks to comradio I found http://www.acoustica.com/products.htm (who makes the MP3 To Wave Converter Plus
program). This company also makes Acoustica Mixcraft V2.50 (check Products tab). I downloaded the free, full-version, 7-day demo and
found that doing the following will convert your wma, wav, mp3 files to wav files at almost the perfect volume to replace the default
ambientmusic files!!!.....
(of course, first back-up your original files as was suggested)
Go to the "Sound" tab and select "Add Sound".
Find your song file (wma, wav,or mp3) and select it.
Press the red "Record" button to bring up the "Record A Sound" menu.
Under "Source" select "Wave/MP3" then press "Record" to record some or all of your song.
When finished the program creates a folder called "My Recordings" in your "My Documents" folder with your new wav file.
Just Copy (or Cut) and Paste it to your FSP Crewpack/Default/ folder and then rename each file accordingly (ambientmusic0, etc).
For me, the volume was almost perfect but if not, simply repeat the above process and adjust the "Level" slider in the "Record a Sound"
menu.
I hope this helps some as I really appreciate all the help from other's posts.
p.s. If you don't want the large file sizes you can adjust the "Record Format" to a lower quality.
