I sent him one as well. I just hope everything is alright in his personal life and I guess the best we can do is wait for a reply.

Well afaik Dan's SOP when coding is to lock himself away and bash at the keyboard till its done and to hell with the rest of it. That's likely why he
hasn't been heard from for a while. But in this instance, he really should stop what he is working on and patch FSPX for Steam. The long and short of it is we are paying customers, rather than potential customers that the p3d version may bring IF it gets finished and bug checked. As such I don't think its too much to ask for a compatibility patch or at the very least a workaround for the time being until Dan can release a patch.

i cant believe this is happening, i am very disappointed, and stop being like dan and throw everything on that dan, i dont even know what this dan represents. a
programmer, tester, troubleshooter, designer, everything? no teams here? no one can reach him directly? that's enough, if this does not get solved in the next 24 hours i will move to FsCaptain and i will consider this is a serious consumer offense! wake up you pilots, officers and captains! somebody has to deal with this other than dan. all other addons i have were updated with the latest FSX-SE within few hours, but this is taking so long. !! and who ever this dan is, he owes us an apology, big one.

Do me a favor, complain in the Steam fora (also) and explain whats going on, maybe they can fix some patch. Btw Ive found some FSX files (no Steam) on a torrent but our mod don't like that here I think Sry Joe, dont kill me 4 this.

@Sam, leave that up to Dan to decide, and any other Moderating duties to me and the rest of the moderators. Try to be helpful, not spiteful.
FYI...Dan is the lone programmer/creator of FsP. He takes care of everything related to it. I can only send him emails as well...no direct line to the bat cave, so to speak.

I noticed last night if you whois fspassangers.com Dan's personal phone number appears on the registration info. I'm not brave enough to call him but maybe one of the
moderators would be willing to give him a ring.

I'm on his beta team. I realize he's a nice guy but it's his personal number and I don't want to invade his privacy. Andre, before you rudely reply to one of my comments
make sure you know what you're talking about. Steam doesn't update FSX. Dovetail is the current developer and they're responsible for updates. Also, don't you think it would be a bit unreasonable to contact FSX's developer regarding addons not working with their latest patch? What would that accomplish? Do you think Dovetails gonna rewrite FSX for every addon which isn't compatible?

Quote:fuzzywaffle wrote: I have already asked that question and got this reply from Dovetail Every developer we are partnered with gets invited to take part in a private beta for all updates. Once we have their feedback, and have made any necessary changes, we then offer the update to everyone in a public open beta. You can find details of these in our news section and here on the forum. Long story short, we go to great lengths to make sure that all updates are available to try by anyone who wants to give them a go before we release them live. In fact this update had two rounds of open beta and developer beta over the last three months. It is why the team at Orbx had an update of their own lined up and ready to go for players. |
