The FSPX gained new version for FSX-Steam?

Since the developer has not been actively updating FsP for a very long time, I would say NO.

joe should we hack the website and put a pig "Does not work with FSX Steam" on the web page somewhere?

Something ought to go on the main page right where you purchase it if possible at the very least.
I shared my experience in another thread you might have seen. As a former user of the FS9 version, I assumed the FSX version of the software would work with FSX, so I bought that one too. I didn't go reading through the forums first to find out if there were problems. Everyone else I've ever dealt with will just give you a refund if there's a problem like this. Being on Steam usually doesn't mean compatibility problems like this, so I made the mistake of not trying the demo first before purchasing it. My bank's fraud department is now investigating it after two weeks of Dan not replying to my inquiry on the problem either here or by email. Dan needs to be careful, if he gets too many of these charge backs from people complaining of the same thing, he might get shut down. That'd be a shame, FSPassengers is a great add on. Would be a bummer to see it disappear. Post Edited ( 01-09-15 09:35 )

then the next person to ask about FSp supporting FSX SE is getting shafted.
Maybe its because im a gamer and I use steam everyday. so I followed the FSX on steam thing closely, and read every article and facebook post about it. so I knew what was going on from the get go. and I swear there is an alarming number of people in this hobby of ours that cant read. it was like when FSX first came out in 2006 (I feel old) remember that train wreak. ![]()

Yeah, that's understandable. It depends how you came across it on Steam, it's a little different story with everyone. I'm a Steam gamer too, but hadn't touched FS in many
years (I grew up playing Flight Simulator 1 ![]() was downloading on Steam I read just a tiny bit, then started playing, so knew nothing else. I incorrectly assumed that because the software was so old and it was being sold through some other company that they had merely purchased some rights and were selling the same software on Steam. After the fact it would appear that FSX is being worked on again by these new people, so something happened there to break a lot of things apparently. Anyway, I purchased FSPassengers for FSX very shortly after that, before I knew that the software was not the same, so there were mods that weren't working with it. Normally I'm more careful, but figured this one would be safe. How wrong I was.

None of this would have been a big deal to me if Dan would have just replied to my email. If he had just paid attention one day over the past two weeks there wouldn't be
a problem. Knowing a guy accepts your money and doesn't respond to you when there's a game breaker problem like this really pisses me off. It's just not how to deal with people when they send you money. I write and sell software too and am so forthcoming with refunds that all but one person I offered a refund to refused to take it! I called one customer by phone after I royally screwed something up. I was out of the country working and got a snail mail money order, something nobody does, so a full month went by before I even knew I had it. The second I got home and saw it, I called him, apologized profusely, explained what I did wrong, then offered to send him both the software and a refund. He seemed really taken aback. He thanked me for the apology, then told me to just keep the money and send the software. It's fine to screw up now and then, we're human, you just have to try your best to make it up to the person after.

I still dream of an update, is what is missing for me to join the FSX-SE.

Guys, as much as I hate to say this on the FsP forum, maybe you should give FS Captain a whirl on Steam. From what I can tell, people are getting it
to work on Steam. Some do have problems with it working properly as indicated here: http://fscaptain.proboards.com/thread/20...am-version I have FS Captain for Prepar3D 2.4 and really enjoy it. And, the software is under continuing development. So, if and when FsPX no longer works on any system I build in the future, FS Captain will be my go-to software....unless of course Dan comes from the shadows and surprises us with a gloriously new build of FsP ![]()

What do you mean by that? Is it my fault if somebody takes my money and does not provide a working product in return?
The bank refunded the money, by the way, so they apparently didn't see it as anything other than fraud. ![]()

I'm not sure if you're also in the software business, but giving a refund whether somebody made a mistake or not is ridiculously easy. At my site I just log in as an admin
and click a "refund" button. Done. Customer gets his money back, no hard feelings. He might even return to buy something else another day...

Sadly Dan is in absentia. From what he has told us on many occasions, he doesn't handle the customer service side of it all, his wife does.
Unfortunately, there are going to continue being issues regarding payment and FSP/FSPX not working with new versions of Windows, and variations of Flight Sim. Sometimes it would be nice if us Admins had more powers to help, but we're only here to make sure Apache, Joe, and Tim play nice.... ![]() |
