Flying helicopters with FSP

Hi all. I've used FSP for many years. I love it. Lots of fun.
Have one particular quirk I have not been able to figure out.

Anybody fly helicopters with FSP? FS9 version.
They take off okay, but everyone I've tried so far freezes up.

All my other planes work just fine, EVEN PMDG.
Read the "freezes posts" but most of them seem to be related to FSX.

Any idea why FSP isn't too friendly with choppers? The ones I'm having problem with are all hover control models. Making payload
models now for the stock 206 and my huey plus the Sikorsky. Will see what they do.

Everyone will agree (upon the threat of death) that I am the main rotor head around here and have never had a problem with any of my
helicoptors. What are your system specs? Under what flight conditions are you freezing? Can you fly okay without FSP? Are you hitting a
key to make the freeze and are you in windowed mode?

Thanks for the note. I have an older computer that runs XP with 2 GB ram. FSP works great, just not on choppers.
I can fly PMDG 747's in FSP with no problem. They suck memory.

I can get the flight started and I fly for about 10 minutes, maybe a little less. Whereupon it decides for freeze.
I don't do anything except fly. Test flight is KRDD to 1O6. Nothing else open except flight sim and my Norton. Haven't tried knocking that
out with helis yet.

Testing the stock 206 and my nam Huey this morning to see if this is a hovercontrol issue or a general issue. Just figure out a REAL
easy way to set the parking brake on a chopper.

Modify the ACFT CFG file to look like this.
[brakes]
parking_brake = 1 //Parking brake available
toe_brakes_scale = 1.0 //Brake scalar

Works.

Test flew the stock 206B. Made it all the way to Dunsmuir. 30 minutes.
The Huey froze just about the time I got to the lake.
Return try was 6700 feet climbing to 7K when it froze. Urrgh.

I'm sorry but I am at a complete lose to fix this. Just for grins have you done a disk clean-up and defrag lately?

Possibly it's time to trade in the XP 32 bit system for the Win7 64 bit with about 8 G of memory
