Little money made on long haul flights

Hello,

Was just wondering if anyone could help me.

Ive done a couple of flights with the PMDG 747x from EGKK to FAJS 4900nm (approx) On flying there i made £10 million which was the
same as what i made when doing a 3hour flights (1000nm) with the same plane.

Also on the way back FAJS to EGKK i only made £1,800,000. It seems like im not making as much money as i should be. I make more
money when i do shorter flights with smaller planes and less passengers.

My ticket prices are set to good. I dont know whether that will have an effect on it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Hello Shane.
After a distance your flight will stop making money on pax and start losing money on the gas to get them there. Large airports also
charge a greater fee for landing.

So i plan to do a flight from London Gatwick to the Bahamas 3900nm with a 777. Am i likely to have the same problem? If so do you know
why this is cause in real life this cant be true as airlines would not fly these long routes non stop.

I don't think you would have the problem with a leg of that length - i regularly fly EGLL to KSFO, and take about £17mil using a payload model based
on the aircraft seating of the company I replicate.

Well the only long haul flights i have done are EGKK to FAJS so im hoping that this next one will bring in more money. I have also used a
seating plan replicating the company i have made.

Do you know at what length of flight i would start to get less money. E,g 4000nm

Well, the distance between KSFO and EGLL is over 5000 nm so I couldn't honestly say.

Ok, my ticket prices are on good rather than normal. Would that have summink to do with it? Also the realife payload on my 747 is not full
capacity would that make a difference do you think?

Yes, ticket price, if it's too high, that will reduce your pax count. Try playing around with the prices.

But surely if i put the ticket prices to normal (one up from good) then i will get less passengers and am less likely to make as much
money? or is that not neccesarily true?

How many passengers you get is also determined by how often you fly to that airport and your company reputation.

From EGKK i do nearly all my flights and my reputation is 99.7% so there shouldnt be any problem there
