[Solved] Fuel leak on every flight and gal/hr way over the limit.

Hi,
I since 3 hours, every flight I fly, the right tank seems to leak fuel and i have to declare an emergency or divert. I first
noticed it when
landing at Gatwick, the plane's left wing seemed to drop significantly, I thought nothing of it and landed as usual. I was
shocked to see
the flight report about the leak- the co- pilot didn't even notify me of this. I checked the failure parameters and it still
says 1% chance of
easy to Hard failures, so I dont understand why this is happening.

Also, Another bug- when I am cruising in a fairly fuel efficient plane, the gal/ hr is way OTT, and I run out of fuel and
have to divert. This is
particularly annoying when i'm on a transatlantic flight from EGKK to CYYC etc... E.g. flying in a 777-200, been cruising for
an hour or so
and I check th detailed in flight report, and it says like 9000 gal/hr, when since the bug in the first paragraph, never
happened. This is
actually very annoying because it's every flight I make and i cant seem to fix it.

When you started your company, you would have had the option to set the failure level from no failures to 100% failures; you can change this in the
settings menu in FSPX when not in a loaded flight.

Check the fuel burn stats in the aircraft.cfg; you'll find it under ThrustSpecificFuelConsumption in the TurbineEngineData
section of the file. Which 777 model are you using? POSKY, Wilco or another?

Its possible you have an unrepaired fuel leak on your plane. Bring up your company manager and do aircraft maintenance. If there's an unrepaired
tank, it should show up and you should be able to repair it. Always be sure to do the aircraft maintenance after every flight.

No they do get repaired.

I had the same problem, a reinstall fixed the problem, it was within the FSP failures settings on my computer, the clan reinstall fixed the issue.
Also the 100% failure will be adding to the failure if thats "on" in your company

Ok thanks. And i'm using the POSKY 777-200 british airways Landor, It used to do about 2000 gal/hr, but now it has gone up to almost
10,000. I have just got home from my A- level critical thinking exam and I am just about to start FS, It may have had the problem fixed

That really isn't right fuel burn wise; I can fly with main tank full and wing tanks at 60% from EGLL to KSFO in the POSKY 772, with full pax and a
reasonable amount of cargo. Are you running Version 2 of the aircraft? I believe V2 of the aircraft fixed alot of issues, including fuel burn ones
and general engine ones; I recall V1 had problems with climb-out thrust not being high enough to maintain airspeed and there was a very high fuel burn
rate.

If you post your engine data parts of your aircraft.cfg I will compare them with mine later today/ early tomorrow and will advise

Hi Thanks, I am using the posky 777 for FSX on FS9 (better quality) I have used it since it became availible, but the fuel burn only just
came about being so high.

FINALLY:

I have re- installed FSP and it has NOT solved the preblem. I am now in a rut. The problem is that the fuel burn is too high and the right
tank always develops a leak. Grr

Doesn't look like anything has become messed up in the aircraft.cfg.. For now, I think the best course of action would be to change the failures
setting of your company (yes it makes it less fun, but may be worth a shot) and try re-installing the Posky 772. I'm using the bog standard B772 in
FSX and haven't had fuel burn issues.

The other thing to consider, is that you are using an aricraft that was designed for FSX in FS9, which can cause weird glitches as there are some
subtle differences in programming and other crazy stuff.

I will certainly consider that, but I have to say that I ahve had this aircraft for a few months and it has never given me problems before... My
company failure setting is fixed on 1%, so I don't see where it happens all the time. Also, it is always the right tank!! ??

Having said all that I have, I'd forgotten something that may be related, and may not be given I don't use the particular paint anymore. One of my
UAL new colour B772 from POSKY suddenly, whenever I flew it, I'd only get 56 points at the end of the flight, whether the flight was perfect/ long
haul/ whatever. I haven't found the problem, and re-installing that paint didn't help either.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but you're not the only one with weird glitches with POSKY combined with FSP.

yea, I just tested the plane on FS without FSP, and it was fine, so I think it's a problem with FSP as all failures are set to 1%...

Its still annoying though- I cant even fly one flight: which makes me upset, coz i love nothing more than to do a long transatlantic flight in
my 777 or new 763...

The way I got round it is copy the texture file and paste it into the same B777 file, and rename it, but still as a texture file. Then modify
the aircraft.cfg by copy and pasting the whole or fltsim.0 part down to visual damage, and rename it fltsim.1; rename the
title under fltsim.1. Thus I now have two of that aircraft, and have purchased both in my company. I use the one that doesn't give me
the glitch of only 56 points per flight to fly.

It certainly is the FSP system as I have re-installed and used a variety of planes, the error keeps on coming up.
