Duty Free shop ?

It will be great to have a duty free shop on the plane, so during the flight it will be possible to hear the flight atendant saying that the shop
is open, with some products, etc.

This will be good for the PAX hapiness, and it's a posibility to earn more money !

Any sugestions ?

I think this will be a very good addition, and I also think that it won't take too much time to implement this in a future version

Indeed an excellent idea!! A duty free shop where you could also choose your own product range etc...just like you can set prices for
tickets and food/drinks now.

An option "serve duty free" and you earn money from it ?
with an announcment ?

what's for you exactly the fun here, I mean internally it will
be the same than a button "get some more income"
with some math that will decide if you'll get a lot or litle income...

Any info on this welcome .... at what time it should happen etc etc...

PS: about the time to make it, often things seem simple for non-programmer but some
are long and hard to do... if you want an announcment, a progress showing in the mini-display
and eventually more feedback from hostess this would be a long work.
if you just need an instant servincing without announcment of course it would take less time

You could first implement this only as an extra option, like serving drinks. In this case with will only help to satisfy the passengers. In a
more difficult way you can set prices, to earn some money. Of course the Duty Free will also have costs so the overall result won't be too much... Managing the assortment could also be a nice addition, but not too deep of course.

You can also link the purchase behaviour to the satisfaction, so the less satisfied passengers are the less they will buy. I.e.
Satisfaction: Change of buying:
100% 50%
90% 40%

etc..

The Duty Free should only take place on longer flights, so you can set the event for a duration of half an hour. So on short flights you can choose to do duty free only, but passengers prefere free drinks so they are less satisfied.

These are some suggestions, and I am not aware about the difficulty to impelement these features, but it would be nice to see something of the duty free in FSPassengers since in my opinion this is a part of the service on board

I think that's taking it a little too far. Here in the US we don't even know what "duty free shop" means! I think there are more pressing
matters that need to be attended too before implementing this. Sorry, I just can't support it.

Umm yea. Just like the buttons for drinks and food are, and they are fun too. Or don't you think so and put them in anyway, although you view them as
boring functions?

I'm sure many simmers cross many borders with their aircraft and are not staying in the USA...

The implementation of a duty free shop can be very interesting.

BUT: Dan, will you be able to tell FsP to "open" the duty free shop ONLY on international flights???

( Maybe if you use the Destination set in the start flight screen... you will be able to know if the departure and the Destination are or
are not in the same country...)

you're going for, there are quite a few other features that could be added before another pointless income generator that would enchance
immersion quite a bit more!
