Cannot Unlock FSP

I am a Vista FS9 user. I have gone through all the forum and done all the steps and I remain locked out though I purchased the software
yesterday.

I have Installed and Uninstalled at least 5 times. I have used both FsPassengers_setup0509 and FsPassengers_setup which I have
gotten from either the demo or simmarket.

I have learned to always use Run as Admin for all executables related to FS2004 as I did both the setup and fs9. I rebooted (Cold) to
insure there were no persistent files running.

I have sent an email to the contact email address, and as I can see it is not rare for that to go unanswered,

Simply put, what happens is I get the FSPassenger menu I go to unlock and register. I either hand type or cut and paste the User and
Password received from SimMarket and click the UnlockFSPassengers button. The button reacts to the click but nothing happens.

I really need help with this.

I love the Demo but hate to fly out of just three airports. What I hate more is paying for something that is expensive (Euro vs USD
Exchange too) and non-refundable.

How long are you waiting after you click the Unlock FsPassengers button? I'm kind of reaching here but the system may take a few to
communicate with the FsP server to verify the correct information. I've looked back through the FAQs and haven't really found anyone who
had a problem like this and if you are running as admin when you start FS2004 and are still having problems then Dan will have to help
you out. He will respond to you. He may be busy but he's good at getting back with people.

I hear you are having trouble unlocking your FSP.....

Please do not knock down the product which is brilliant, and Dan and his team hav produced a great tool.

First if could be a hardware/ software / drivers issues that may unable you to unlock.

Could you please make sure ( if you cut and paste) the username and password sent to you, to make sure you do not ( and am sure you
are a cautious person) allow any blank spaces before or after your name or number.........

FSP is great despite I have issues with movie.... ( passengers take a book then)

Although a lame excuse, you can imagine what Dan's mailbox looks like! ;-)

Your best bet remains submitting a post on this forum (which you have) to which we can then draw Dan's attention (which I will do).

You don't need an internet connection to unlock fsp, so not sure where you get the verify with the server part from.

Hrmmm, I was under the assumption that when you register your key it is verified online. I believe thats also in the instructions if you
check.

For FsPx, that is correct. For FsP (which this post is about, and which you already mentioned (fs2004) in your previous post) you can unlock on a pc without internet access.

The answer to how long do I wait: I waited as long as it took to register, receive the email, logon and type the original text. I think about 10
min. I am connected to the internet on a broadband network 24x7 or there about.

Is it possible the registration credentials are not correct? Could a re-send of the User/Password be a solution?

I do understand Dan has a lot of supporters and they love the software. My initial exposure to the demo was favorable, but if I cannot get
the value added for the money paid I have the right to state the facts.

I only want to have the pleasure of raving about FS Passengers as so may others have. All I need is a solution.

By the way, I am very careful. I managed developers and testers for 11 years. Those are the same questions I would have asked. My
experience is mainframe, not PC, but I have been using MSFS since FS98.

I don't think DC was putting the product down. He's just frustrated that he can't get the retail version to work. In all reality this should be a
simple fix. Hopefully Dan will see this post soon.

Hello James,

I would say it's a vista problem,

try to reboot fresh, reinstall FsPassengers without uninstalling but take care to be in admin mode and maybe with UAC disconnected.
Then launch FsX in admin mode and try to unlock.

I think I got it to work, but the solution is a bit strange to me

The Sim Market email has this line in it (* replaces digits)

Information/Your Registration Key: User: simMarket_**_**** Password: *********

Naturally I copied these into the two fields on the Unlock dialog. This resulted in nothing other than the button reacting.

So strangly enough I recalled previous purchases and the User was my Name exactly at it appears in the delivery address.

I used that and the Password and it seems to have worked, although I have not yet gone through the setup and use, other than opening
the application. You might consider adding some clarification through SimMarket in thier License email.

If I still have additional problems I will 1) let you know and 2) resolve the Vista issue (easy enough to do and you provide plenty of
incentive.)
