missed approach

hi
one problem i am having is that as im on landing procedures, atc tells me to go around, on second approach and landing when i go to the end of flight
box, the passengers are very unhappy about being late.

is there any way someone could change or add something to let the passengers know about being late to make them happier, maybe an attendant announcement

You can always cancel your destination if you want.

Or may I suggest you D/L AISMOOTH which should take care of over-eager AI aircraft stealing your landing slot.

i understand what you mean but the AI aircraft are not stealing my landing slot usually when it happens i am second in line to land and about 100 ft
above ground atc tells me to go around and there isnt any aircraft behind me coming into land also and when there is they are also asked to go around

Which means that the aircraft in front of you is probably not evacuating the runway fast enough...

This has been asked a couple of times already and in short the answer is No, because
a) Dan didn't program anything like this
b) in real life you (as a passenger) wouldn't be less annoyed about being too late just because you knew there was a GA. In fact you would
likely be more scared about the possible reasons for this GA (pilot mistake, controller mistake, crappy weather or technical problems). Or
how would you feel if the FA anounced this:

"Ladies and gentlemen, we just had a go-around because our gear doesn't deploy, the flaps are stuck in the up position and our right engine
just died on us. We therefore kindly ask you to join our silent prayer after which you will feel a lot better."

and then Bobby McFerrin whistles along ... in every life you have some trouble, when you worry you make it double - don't worry, be happy ...

Yeah...I'm really happy about going MINUS 80 points due to TWO GA after an otherwise perfect flight of 2 hours......that inspite of
AISMOOTH and FlusiFix-increased AI aircraft speeds on the runway....I'm so happy la la la lala...lalala...

I found that AISmooth wasn't always reliable and had the tendency to wave off or turn around aircraft on final without anything in front of them. I
had perpetually circling aircraft and my AI planes ended up having a greater chance of being on time if I just let FS ATC do its own silly thing.

Oh, c'mon... just arrive a bit earlier to the destination airport area - this way you will be able to do a GA within ten minutes and still not lose
point. Pilots sometimes GA in real life as well, ))) don't sweat it. Most of the time, you are psychologically ready for a GA, if, for example, an
aircraft is caming in to land or has just landed in front of you, or IRL weather conditions worsening, or something. Grab your chart, follow
the GA procedure and do it again Or, if you are not a realism freak, you can switch traffic off entirely and come in to land without any
obstruction.

There is another problem concerning GAs - Sometimes ATC tells me to follow a cessna or some other little bird on final. Problem is that ATC doesn´t
recognise me flying in on a B747 - how the hell can I follow a little prop with a jet without falling down? I always land a little left or right and
have the cessna under my wing - works perfectly. But why doesn´t ATC recognise the aircraft and gives me a GA a little eralier not just before
touching down at around 300 ft AGL?

By keeping your distance and by anticipating it
In a 747 you have a TCAS display. Have a look at it when you line up for approach and if you see traffic tht may interfere, reduce your
speed. You can deploy flaps a little further out and thus gaining some separation.
The question about GA's and why they come so late. That's like IRL - unless tower sees an upcoming problem early, they will continue
staggering planes for approaches and bring them down. On big airports landings happen every 30-60 seconds. So the next aicraft is on
final and cleared for landing while the leading one just touches down. If that plane misses it's exit or trundles along the runway, the
controller will wait as long as feasable and only if it is obvious it's not going to work, he'll wave you off.

Hint: I disabled GA traffic for that reason as a lot of big airports I fly to won't allow small GA's to interfere with their operations.
Get Flusifix and increase the taxispeed of AI aircraft on the runway to 35-40 knots. That way they will reach tjeir exits faster and cause less
congestion. Combine it with AISmooth and the rate of GA's can be reduced but not completely avoided.

Yes sure - TCAS will help. But even with flaps ext fully my speed is almost double the speed of an approaching cessna. It works perfectly with a 737
or larger but with prop aircraft - no chance.

Can´t do anything about - i will try out some of your add-on recommendations - can I try them out for free and decide whether to purchase them? Do
you have a link at hand - don´t take time to find out - I can do that myself, only if you know it by heart.
