Guys, i saw lots of nice suggestions lately but all scattered all over the forum. What if we post our suggestions all here?
Just an idea
I think there is even already a thread like this but well...
Edit, On request, i will cut and paste the suggestions all here in the first post.
1) Saving flights en route.
2) How about improving the way the 45 minute fuel reserve penalty gets applied? Right now, if you actually have to use the
reserve (and get delayed by
ATC), you still get penalized. Probably the simplest way to do this is to have the software apply this check while the
airplane is sill some distance
from the airport, and have a simple prediction for fuel on board if the plane went straight in. This will leave a safe "orbit
space" around the
airport while waiting to land, where the penalty won't get activated.
3) Operate in "flight leg mode", where each landing is another leg of an overall flight. How the points awards would get
split up amongst the legs
would have to be worked out; maybe there would just be some sort of small bonus for completing the entire flight.
4) For military aircraft, enable in-flight refueling. This would only be allowed for planes that get flagged as being capable
of in-flight refueling
in the payload model (kinda like the flag to say whether or not a plane has a pressurized cabin). This would make flying the
airfreighters like the
AN-124, C-130, etc, more fun and realistic.
5) FSP Keys enable/disable hot key.
I used to love typing in GPS data using keyboard instead of clicking through. So I used to be able to type "EGCC". Now all I
get is E
G "COMMS 2".... Plus other key strokes have been overridden by PSPax. I would like a hot key to turn on and off the PS
override (like caps
lock but it controls FSPAX input) I think you get the idea.
6) 3 modes for service:
A) MAnual - as you can have it now.
B) Auto - as you can have it now
C) Semi auto - the hostess will ask you before she does anything, you give the go ahead. She will still do the service at the
normal times (in auto mode) but will ask for permision first (prevents her serving full meals on finals).
7) Similar to above, but have a switch to turn on or off auto service in flight (probably the best option). At th emoment you
can choose
auto crew or not when not in a flight, but can swtich when not in a flight.
8 ) Being able to right click a plane you own in company manager and then selecting - open this aircraft now. This would be
quicker than
having to click "Menu->Options->Selet aircraft->choose aircraft make->Model->Livery". SO instead of trudging
through the slow FS
interface, FSPAX would allow you to jump straight into the aircraft that you own (correct livery and all)
(A way around this meantime would be to use Excel to track what planes you own as I do. Mine shows where they are based
(normally at
least), where they go to if scheduled, and the times and finally the Registration code, i.e. Nxxxx whatever.)
9) Chartered flights?? An option somewhere, where a flight start/destination is randomly chosen, you get bonus points if you
decide to
fly that route.
10) I would like to see light penalties disabled for warzones, as lights attract gunfire, but maybe an option if lights off
it lowers the chance to be hit.
11) Would it be possible to view the pilots log outside of FS9? I would like to use it to update some other records, notably
my VA flight time but
it.s a bit much to fire up FS9 each time I want to just do that, be nice if the comapny manger could be launched as a
seperate tool.
12) Lets say you have 2 pilots, and a cessna. Well, on the crew selection screen in the loading screen, select two pilots!
Benifit, both
pilots get the hours.. bad thing? You crash or do bad, both pilots are injured and/or recieve the penalty points! That would
be a great way
to work up a back-up and main pilot at the same time.. and add realism. What airline has only one pilot per flight!?
13) Hey.. what about airline vs modes? AI airlines are your rival (Like American and United Airlines or Boeing and Airbus).
Each airline
has numbers of flights, aircraft, and hubs.. and fight for, well.. more popularity and passengers overall. False advertising
ect can damage
them.. or you.. try to win the airline world by crushing other airlines!
14) When serving food and drink in planes that dont fly much higher than FL12 to 15, not having the hostess say that one can
no longer serve
because the plane is coming in for a landing. This would work great for such planes as the DC-3.
15) I was wondering-- Is it possible to have FS9's restricted area's.. well.. restricted?
It would be nice to file flightplans around these area's, or have an emergency and have to well.. land in those area's and
have a fine (Erm,
did I say that would be nice? Im sorry, I ment realistic :P )
16) I would like to see allowance for the pilot and co-pilot in the weight and balance such that their stations take up two
seats in light planes and arr
located at their appropriate ARM. I have to do a work around now--defining a luggage compartment at the station for the Pilot
and co-pilot and adding
their weight before i board others or add fuel.
17) I'd like to see the cost of fuel to include all the fuel (burned and unused). That way there is an incentive for
calculating the correct fuel needs.
Filling the tanks to the maximum that weight allows would be inefficient. This applies to light aircraft as the other one
does. For most of the
flight I fly, even with passengers loaded, I can add far more fuel in my aircraft then is required for the flight and a
reserve. There is little
reason not too fill her up (except my pride, which keeps me honest). better still, I'd like FsP t keep a running tab on my
fuel, so unused fuel is
carried forward to the next flight and I have to top off or refuel as warranted.
18 ) More customization of penalties by aircraft: I have to turn off the flap penalty on all my aircraft because one of the
three does not require or
recommend flaps at normal take off.
19) It would be nice to have a payload system more accurate with single stations defining single seats in smaller aircraft
and areas of cabin in
airliners. Only 4 pax stations are not enough to realistically simulate the load of a airliner.
Also would like to see a update on the behaviour of the paylod system on the aircraft. I tryed many hit and miss with
different aircraft and many
times i dont get what i want in terms of CG and payload. I like to have single stations for seats and areas with accurate
positions to simulate CG
deviation etc.
20) Last part still on payload is about allowing changes to payload in FS9 dialog while FsP flight is in progress. I know it
would be cheating under some
views, but not under my view of allowing a payload change. I like to set passenger and cargo weight only when they are
actually inside the aircraft.
Maybe also some position changes during flight (but total payload still same value as it cannot technically change).
21) automatic flight update to VA website and plot onto a map of the world like FSACARS:
http://www.satavirtual.org/fsacars/realtime/flights.php
^would be a brilliant tool for VA's asFSACARS is a pain the arse to set up and i still cant get it to work.
22) how about being able to hire pilots, this would be more realistic for fleet income then based on number of aircraft
Or you could have an option where fleet aircraft will only make money if there are pilots to fly them, you train the pilots
rather than hire them.
(i.e. make a new pilot and fly his hours up to the skill required for the plane)
maybe slightly better than hiring pilots as that's just money and is quick and easy.
23) Be able to schedule a flight for the next day, with the time of departure. Departure should be counted in flight
assessment as well as
arrival. Making the passengers wait for delayed flight is as bad as late arrival; cancelled flight is even worse, isn't it.
24) Move transition altitude from the general options to the flight settings; allow different TA for departure and arrival,
as they can be in parts
of the world with different TA.
25) If the runway is dirt, don't penalize for the vibration during takeoff..
26) Make passengers less resentful; for example, if there was some turbulence in the beginning of the flight, and
satisfaction was little
down, but then they were given a drink and satisfaction went up, don't lower the satisfaction after that.
27) Allow the captain to make his own announcement in the microphone (can be purely cosmetic measure, without any
functionality ;-)
28 ) How about localised cabin announcements the reflect your destination / airline.
So say I am flying an Asiana (OZ) flight from RKSI - KLAX, It will play the standard cabin announcements, then look for a an
option soundfile per region.. IE will do English THEN Korean (If installed)
cabin announcements.
or if I was flying from RKSI - VTBD (BKK) It would look for an optional THAI cabin announcement?
The codeing shouldn't be too difficult, then it would just be up to us to beg our friends to record cabin announcements in
their native tounges!
29) And I wondered:
I haven't been penalized by FSP! Maybe this would be a nice to be implemented - because I can't believe, that I would came
around any penalty in real
life.
And: Maybe the pilot should at least get some bonustime if he needs to go around on advise of ATC. (not the whole 20
- 30 min but something
like 10 or so...)
30) my great suggestion from the other thread...
of have pilots hours recorded in real time.
eg
if you fly a 3 hour flight, in real time, you get 3 hours logged
if you fly the flight with time acceleration, and it takes you 40minutes, you only get 40 minutes logged
31) maybe, they could announce where you are going, like when you enter the destinasion, and the Pilots name, maybe it could say.
welcome abord, on our nonstop sevice to (whatever you type in), your captian today will be (your pilots name). And also at
the end instead
of saying
"thankyou for flying teith us" they could say "tahnkyou for flying with (your airline name).
32) If there was "go around", don't penalize for not having sufficient fuel reserves upon landing. Probably could be
implemented as some
special announcement.
33) I've always wanted to have a copilot that can handle the ATC communication for me (for whatever reason
) well, a real
world captain
gives the communication to his copilot, and he also can go to the toilet without having to "pause" the airplane
34) Here is my idea, maybe you could have special flights, like for instance you could do a special VIP trip for a famous
Celeberty and he
could being extra money for the whole aircraft, or You have anniverserys for your airline.
35) Often in clouds, FS gets confused about the speed, it begins jumping up and down. FSP shouldn't penalize for exceeding
250 speed limit if that happens.
