Seatbelts, drinks and food too early

Hi,

I don't know if I am the only one having this problem. When letting FSP manage the services,
iF for some reason I have to level out in my climb, say I am cleared to 9000ft and before I
am given my next step, the seatbelts sign will go off and soon after drinks and food are being served.
When I resume my climb the seat belt sign is turned back on, usually till I get to altitude.

That's why I personally recommend using manual services... offers you much more control.

Thanks for getting back so quick, I think that it only does it when you elect to have the drinks and
food managed. I have never used anything but the automatic seatbelt mode, and it has never
happened before.

Oh! May I post another complaign?

In the Auto service mode the crew don't show my beloving passengers the movie.. And I can't do it manually, e.g. like I start the music on
ground.

I don't know, if I did OK, but my common practice when I have controled the service manually was the following^

As soon as we reach 7000, I've started the movie. When the flight level have been reached, I've served them drinks (Just to greet them
onboard) Later the grinks have been served each hour till somewhere 200 NM to the destination. The food have been served on request..

I am glad that you responded to the post, I think that even if we have the option of letting FSP
manage the service or managing it ourselves either way it should work.

You already have the option to manage it yourself. Check in the setup menu...

By "complaign", I'm guessing you mean "complaint", and not "campaign".

Anyway, there is a VERY SIMPLE fix for this! Simply set all control to "MANUAL". This way, you can control everything yourself, and
commence services/features when YOU WANT THEM (for the most part, save a few restrictions). This way, you won't have anything to
complain about, and you can enjoy FSP!

Dan,
As I mentioned to Grome, I STRONGLY recommend that you set all services/features to the manual control mode. This way, you won't
run into ANY issues with them. The automatic mode seems to work quite oddly, and doesn't really do everything when it should be
done. Hope this helps.

Before the latest update (I am using auto services) all went well. I was cruising for appr. 15-20 minutes when drinks were served and
later some food. Now they start serving drinks just above 10.000 feet, while I'm still climbing (seatbelts on, manual mode). I think this
option should be reset to it's previous setting. I don't like manual mode for services, because this isn't really my concern. It is the FA's.
Please don't remove it, just fine-tune it

Wrong! It is your concern! If the turbulence level is over moderate, turbulence over moderate is expected, or other conditions currently
affect the ability of the FA's to conduct service, it's the pilots responsibility to notify them that they can/cannot serve.

Actually, in reality the FA's will start taking drink orders when passing through the 10,000ft mark or so in the climb. Occasionally they'll
wait longer, but normally on my airline they'll take orders when passing the 10,000ft mark. This way, by the time we're at cruise, the PAX
are just beginning to get their drinks/snacks. Make sense?

Certainly, there is a possibility to control the service manually, which would fix the issue for sure, but if you offer the auto control option,
one should expect it to work OK. So, all that have been said here is just a proposal for the option tuning.

E.g. the movie is the easiest way to keep the passenger satisfied, less scared during the turbulence, etc. IRL (In Real Life) there is not so
much things to do during the long flight, but to observe, so, the movie is the easiest way to entertain the passenger.

And here is just a funny (as I think) story. See, they carry two sets of sandwiches on board. And all that they can serve is that two sets, no
matter how many actual sandwiches have beeen served. Again, I don't know the US air companies practice, but on the domestic routs in
my country the practice is like that: They carry Light Food (that can be the sandwiches, salads, some packed sets, containing caviar,
small cakes, etc.) packed and if the passenger would not like to have it, they just don't unpack it, so, that can be offered once again. The
knolege about this practice cost me several mistakes during the FSP usage

Thanks Brad, make perfect sense to me.

On my next FSP flight, I will give the manual service a go. After all it isn't too hard to press the required keys to do so. My biggest concern
is that I might forget about it and I'll end up with hungry passengeres

When u control manually, u have total control, with my company i manage it and then i allow them to manage the seatbelt sign

what i have observed is that when in a climb, once u change or decrease the rate of climb or vert speed, the seatbelt sign will be turned off(if in
automatic mode), but i am still not sure abt the descent...........

detecting automatically when it's time to serve is extremely difficult because there is not two flight profile the same...
the auto is done for people that climb straight to cruise altitude.

If FsP auto service fail with your flight profile you might better use the manual service.

I have given the manual service a try on my last 3 flights and I even like it better than the auto mode.
Feels like your in total control and no more serving drinks too quick after TO.
