I've been flying for awhile now, and having experienced some of the failures that fsp throws at me, I decided I wanted to practice my emergency
handling. So I go change the the menu option for failure precentage up to 100% and go do a flight. The flight lasts about 1:30 minutes, and no
failures. Land safely, never had anything fail that I could tell.
Decided to check my company and make sure I hadn't clicked that "fixed failures button", and it was, as I thought, off. Thought to myself "Odd, maybe
something failed that wasn't serious and I just didn't notice it", turn on the failure icon and procede to do two more flights with no failures.
I found this to be a bit odd, and the only thing I can think of is that I am currently flying Single Engine, Fixed Gear planes, which may cause some
of the random failiures to not be valid, and therefore when "rolled" these failures don't actually do anything/act as "no failure". Is this the case?
Is there some chance to get "no failure" even if it is set to 100% failures, regardless of A/C type?
If it is the case of the failure not being valid for this type of a/c, could this be "fixed" so that it can only choose failures valid for your type
of aircraft? (ie, won't choose any of the depressurization failures if the a/c isn't pressurized, won't choose gear problems if the gear is fixed?) I
know I can use the manual failure file to set something to occur, but I'd rather be suprised then know "Birdstrike on this flight" or "Right Tank
leak". I want to work on my ability to not just tell when a failure occurs, but try and figure out what happened.
(Also, to note, the A/C condition is somehwere around 96% currently due to flying it around, does a plane in good condition get a bonus to avoid a
failure?)
