CTD's Galore and dll's

Hi guys, (sorry for the long post)

I have been going through a CTD's galore this morning, 6 out of 6. I am loosing my mind over the problem. Since, it seemed that things
were getting better in the past couple of days but now appear to get worst ever since I loaded a fresh copy of FSP last night.

Now, I took all my add-ons dll's out and only kept fsp's and, bingo, CTD's galore again. Not knowing toward wich Saint to turn to
anymore, I decided to check the version of each and every one of MS 9.1 update dll's for versions number. All stock dll's are 9.1.0.40901
except for that TrafficInfo.dll which I believe comes for use by the traffic look tool from Pete Dawson FSUIPC. In the past, it was used by
the traffic console already incorporated in Fs which was taken out in FS2002, I think.

Now since I was looking for a culprit add-on dll to take out and, if I am right that this dll is provided by MS for an add-on use only like Pete
Dawson's traffic look tool, even though it is branded; Microsoft Flight Simulator Module, Copyright © & (p) 2003 Microsoft Corporation. All
Rights Reserved.version 9.0.0.30612. they do not update it anymore, would you agree that this one could be at fault since it is not
updated by patch 9.1 and, it is actually loaded when starting FS.

Can any one can feed me up on that one. Am I totally out to lunch in my assumption that, it is loaded with FS at start up ans it is
an add-on tu be used only dll.

Has anyone got a 9.1.0.40901 version of that dll?

Update,

Took the trafficInfo.dll out and tried again to no avail. CTD, 7 in 7. So do not worry about the above questions and hypothesis. It don't do
nothing.

I'll keep looking.

I ran a process exploration of my system when FS was runing first , without FSP then with FSP also runing. I do not know if it can be of
any interrest but here's what I found.

In the main FS9.exe process: there are only three different dll's from one to the other. FSpassengers.dll, off course, mlang.dll and,
wininet.dll.

I guess it narrows down the number of modules that could cause problems? no? because, everything works fine when FSP is not runing.

Anyone else has any idea?

Oh! by the way, that trafficInfo.dll get loaded at FS start up.

might be voice edit.

Also if you just removed the DLL, a "fault"* might remain in your Fs9

When exactly do Fs crash ? in FsP flight ? without ?

Thanks, I was aware about editvoicepack and it was checked already.

Roger for the "Fault" after removing a DLL, I did not know that. I will try again,

Now, FS normally crashes in flight, at times I get the black screen for a sec and CTD without any further due. At times all freezes and all I
can do is ctrl+alt+del to close it all and, other times and most often,like today in particular, 7 out 8 flights, I got the black screen following
some event such an ATC call to me, someone else responding to ATC in the backgroud, a climb, a turn, a descent, a flick of a switch or a
call to the hostess, there is no specific moment really. Then, all I am left with is the black screen for about 10-15 secs with the ATC
window, which still updates itself in writing, even though I hear no sound, the mini diplay from FSP. my keeboard does not repond to
anything and, my hard drive that goes crazy for that period then, CTD with a report from MS that such and such a DLL has failed.

I do not mean to sound negative or sarcastic in anyways but, I just finished that flight I was trying to accomplish, the seven previous times
today trying everything I could think of, after removing FSpassengers from the machine and it worked like a charm. The only airplane I
have used so far without a glitch ever is my old DC-6 imported from fs2000, that I adapted for 2004, It has never failed so far but, as soon
as I try to use a FS2004 a/c it CTD's, it must mean something. What about that fssound.dll that a lot of new panel require even though it is
totally outdated or that trafficInfo one, also outdated required by some add-ons?

Somehow looking into the runing process earlier led me to believe that a module doesn't like FSP as much as I do.

If it crash 100% something might be flawed in your current install, I wish you can send me your computer
so I can see what happen, I never had any CTD on my two computer (two years old Fs2004 install
with many things) so such problem are hard to track for me. A computer were it always crash would be a
gold mine for me.

do you have a list of all your DLL ? (simply start Fs2004 , exit and you'll find the complete list in FsPassengers/log.txt.)
that might help....

Also did you double checked ATC (as it happen when ATC is running that may look like the ATC bug)

You didn't replied : does it happen only when FsP is installed or when you have started a FSP flight ?

No need to folllow up on my problems anymore, probably as you made it clear, the problem lies on my end. But in any case,
