black background in menus: any way to disable it?

Like the subject says: is there any way to disable the black screen in the background when acessing FSPX menus?

I ask because reguarily the black screen does not close along with the menu while the flight continues (on audio ) but I do not have a choice then but to quit fsx, which is very annoying.

If you read the small print, you'd find that with certain configurations of FS and FSP you will need to access the FSP menus while in windowed mode
opposed to full screen.
