Crash Effects

Hi

I know that FSPX has added some additional effects but the crash effects are minimal in FSX. Does anyone know how to make crashes
more realistic. I have searched the forums and the web and cant find anything?

The only this I can find is to add a line visual_damage=1 to the aircraft.cfg under each [flightsimxx] variant. Has anyone tried this? Does it
work?

Are there any downloads available that increase crasf effects.

Before any smart arse says it, I know the idea is to keep the plane in the air, however, when you do make a catastrophic error, it would be
good to have a bit of extra realism.

Any ideas anyone?

Try looking up this sort of thing on a freeware multiple add-on site like simviation.com. There are numerous downloads there that would fit what you want.

Hi, WZ. I've tried both Avsim, Simviation and Flyawaysimviation and none of them have any crash effects.

Yes, they do Abidad. Look in the effects areas of simviation.

Sorry WZ, you've been most patient with my persistent questions. I cant find an effects area on Simviation, sound, panels, guagues,
utilites etc etc etc, but no effects???

Massive crash 3 saposidly works on FS9 and FSX.

but i never could get it to work.

that CFG line youu talked about, it works as long as the aircraft has the appropriate effects and models. but no default aircraft have them,
and very few add-on ones do ither.

OK, have looked everywhere. Plenty of stuff for FS9 and before, but nothing that appears to work with FSX.

Massive Crash 3 - loads of forum posts saying it's not compatible with FSX.

I think the answer here is to find out how to make your own using the SDK.

If anyone happens across this thread and has downloaded some freeware crash effects specifically for FSX, please provide the URL.

Setting this flag to 1 enables visual damage (e.g. parts breaking off) to be seen when crashing the aircraft into the scenery.

Note: visual damage will only work if it is built into the aircraft's .mdl file.
