G'day Guys,
I have got a query about something that confuses me.
We all know that if we exceed the speed of 250 knots above 10,000 feet we automatically cop a penalty from it. At above 10,000 feet we are allowed to speed up according to our flight plan and at this stage we usually ask the ATC for clearance.
I'm just wondering how sometimes I will ask for clearance and ATC will command me to keep it below 250 knots, even if I have a long haul flight.
At times they will allow me to go above 250 knots, but there are times when they will ask me to keep it below, now I usually ignore this and continue to go above 250 knots even if ATC says to keep it below. It works out well because I never get any penalty or fine for not following ATC.
Can someone please explain what is going on, as it doesn't seem to work out right.
Any form of help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Captain Fifth...
