AA will not lend me a plane anymore, I guess....

Schunken Air Service today rent a AA 777 because need a big Iron to go from Bay Area to Mexico.....

After a uneventful flight I must three times take manual control in the last stage because Mexico approach was miss some mountains
that was beetween my plane and Runway 5l....

...and why Air France get a ILS approach on 5R and I must rush visual beetween clouds and mountains and mountains in clouds make
my way to 5L....???

I follow ATC and was way to high on final and than slammed the baby on the runway with -650 feet/m...

Sorry about the tires to AA....


Next time I go to Acapulco!

LOL, the EXACT same thing happened to me today while flying into North Las Vegas airport with 3 passengers aboard my Citation X. The airport doesn't
have an ILS so visual landings are the rule of thumb. Well, the winds just so happened to be favoring the skinniest, shortest runway on the field and
ATC's approach takes you over this huge mountain! While I'm still at 10,000ft ATC drops me off 20 miles out from the runway and leaves me. I end up
screaming down in this dive to match the PAPI meanwhile my passengers are stressing out. I landed on the runway way too hard at something like
-650fpm and ruined the landing gear.

At least I know I'm not the only one suffering from MSFS's stupid ATC. . .

Keep in mind you can usually ask the ATC for a different approach, unfortunately not a different runway (except parellel runways). I
generally will try for a different approach with the full procedure so I can just go direct to it instead of the horrid ATC zig zag vectors.

Or if I know ATC's going to be a real pain in the a** for an approach, sometimes I'll just cancel IFR and do the approach myself. Not very realistic,
but niether is Flight Sim's ATC. I just forgot to do this on this flight mentioned above. LOL!
