After the landing the (dutch accented captain) goes like "we wish the austrian football team all the best against the dutch football team" - implying that the austrians were on the plane back to topic. One of the best planes for smooth landings is mike stones Cessna 404 Titan. Seldomly have anything worse than "kiss" with it. Usually below 30 ft/min

My best was a -66.2 in the PMDG 738 on a flight at Manchester. It's kinda funny looking through my flights to and from there and Rome, and seeing
the touchdown rates differ, because I'm using the stock EGCC and ISD's LIRF. The decent rates are much higher at LIRF because my computer is struggling to keep the frame rates above 10 fps, whereas Manchester is perfect 25 fps all the way down BTW, I wish I had the strong tyres from that A320, I'm going through tyres on my 767 at a huge rate of knotts (no pun intended )

Well, with me (new) A330 I still need some practicing in landing.
No matter if autolanding or landing manually, it's always between -300 and -1000 fpm. (Well, my pax still like me ... :D ). But a few days ago, I had a loss of cabin pressure by a broken window. So I returned to my departure airport and (because I wasn't firm to reprogram the FMGC until that) I did a complete manual approach - with a an emergency landing on -120 fpm or so. I should have some emergencies more often... :D

I know these are old but probably not for everybody. 747 Landing at Meigs Field http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vs9nIyhReSA Same but viewed from the cockpit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clf8Tpr2Ld0 And landing it on a carrier http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piq101W532w Enjoy

Nice! How did you stop so fast on the carrier landing? Oh, it looked like you used a video camera to film the landings, I would recommend
FRAPS, instead of a traditional camcorder.

Maybe with FSX coming.... for the 747 stopping quickly: i told every man on board the carrier to stand at the other end of the ship and blow at the 747 as strong as they could, as soon as the wheel touched down

lots of headwind then

we could say that...

-21.5 ft/m in Airbus A330-300
The only problem with the flight was that I didn't load enough fuel and had to divert to a closer airport! Post Edited ( 10-09-06 21:07 )
