[new feature] Ask ATC to be allowed to exceed 250 kts limit

Under 10'000 ft aircraft must keep speed under 250kts, by beta tester request
I now added a new feature: you can ask the ATC to be allowed to exceed this speed.

On climb there is 75% chance that you'll be allowed to exceed speed
on Descent there will be only 25% chance... (by advice of Brad wich is ATPL)

it work like that:

by menu or by keyboard key you call this option "Ask 250kts clearance"
the co-pilot then voice that he will ask that to ATC and 10 seconds later he voice the reply
from atc either "we are cleared" or "sorry we etc etc"

You must ask that on climbing before exceeding speed and you must ask that
before 10'000 on descent or below if your speed is still under 250kts...

The things to retain is simply : ask it before exceeding 250 kts...

Good feature. I know here in the UK pilots are often advised of no ATC speed restriction as it sometimes helps to clear traffic from an
area. Generally there is not the 250kts rule in the UK however I believe pilots are advised to keep under 250 unless otherwise notified

Won't the FS9 ATControllers give us grief for exceeding? I'm wondering if they will cancel IFR if we continue above 250.

The FS9 atc NEVER applies speed restrictions Only Radar Contact have such features.

I know it's standard for all traffic of the US to stay under 250. Of course, being a real pilot, I've never had any problems adhering to the rule
since I've never piloted anything that can reach 250 in the first place!

I´m new here in very interested in this new evolution is the FS world.
I fly online and noticed this topic. The following line disturbed me a bit:

This means that the request can be declined (sorry we....), but when I fly online, the online controller decides wheter it is allowed or not.

Is it possible to just make a key combi / button that read "exceed 250kts below FL100 allowed? Yes/No" this way i van press yes if it's
allowed by my online controller.

I was at Brisbane Airport the other day (YBBN). Over this guys UHF we heard a Singapore Airlines 777 been asked by tower
to be FL170 by 19 DME. I thought how on gods green earth is this fully loaded sucker gonna manage that. So as my self and
20 other people I've never met before start praying this 777 powers up like no tommorow and then climbs into the air and takes off 10nm
heading 010 and turns around by the time he came back over YBBN he was 8,000ft and 280kts. So my thoughts is there is always an
exception to the rule. Has anyone heard of this happening regularly?

In real life, controllers will allow aircraft to go over 250kts below 10,000 feet due to sequencing or seperation. In the case of the
Singapore 777, the controller probably wanted him to expedite his climb perhaps to get out of the way of arriving traffic. But it's always fun
to hear on the radio 'cancel speed' and the look for a jet come screaming over head. :D

I got a question when we are flying online VATSIM will we be able to use this product the same?

Such as the flight speed scenario... How will the program be able to determine if are request was accepted and tower gave us the go
ahead?

And if we are flying on Vatsim and are not under the vicinity of tower control how will we be able to do this?

There is not technical issue or any limitation due to the fact you'll play online. It's just like offline. FSP has no idea if you 're connected to a
network or if you are just flying offline.

But you can imagine that if you request your VATSIM approach controller to fly high speed at departure, so below 10'000 ft.. Then, before
applying so, you'll have to ask your FSPassengers virtual copilot if you can fly faster than 250 kts. This virtual copilot has no idea of your
vatsim controller's answer, as stated above. So if he says OK, you have the green light. If he says NO, you shouldn't fly faster than 250 kts
although you got the high speed approvement from the VATSIM controller, because FSP is still monitoring your speed to remain below
250 kts at this time, and this, until you request the copilot and that he says OK.

Maybe (it's an idea for the next version, if it's too late now) there could be a checkbox or similar in the options: "Are you flying online?" If
no, you made the request for ignoring speed limitation and FSP gives to you the answer: yes or no according to its internal rules. If yes,
you can force the answer according to the answer of the "real" online ATC.

If you fly a lot online and bother of the 250kts limitation (ATC may request by itself that you exceed this speed for example)
you just need to edit the "more_option.cfg" of FSP, using this file you can disable many penalty of FSP
so just set:

Disable250KtsUnder10000ft =1; // disable the 250kts speed below 10'000 ft penalty

And FsP will not give you a penalty for that anymore. (being able to force the authorization render more
or less the 250kts limitation useless anyway, so better disable it completely)

Else if ATC never request that by itself you just need to ask to FSP FIRST than if you're granted by FSP
THAN ask to ATC. FsP may refuse on some occastion (25% chance) but that's life.
