Hello. I've recently purchased FSPassengers and I've got to say it's the best money I've spent so far in fs2004, apart from the flightsim package, of
course.
FSPassengers gives sense to FS2004 flights: now I've got a reason to do things right and be careful rather than fooling around. FSP is in some way a
dream realized, something I've been waiting for to appear since the FS2 days, back on the ole' good Atari 800XL, when I only had a Piper Cherookee as
the only choice to fy, and imagination was my sole companion on those pixelated lands.
But enough praise for the moment. I just wanted to give a few suggestions on how to improve -if possible- the experience of flying with FS2004. And
here they go:
1.- Operation Bases: Despite i think the current mainteinance management is superb, I think it could be improved if you could choose an
operations base, or hub, or headquarters or whatever you want to call it, in a certain airport, as many large airlines do. The player could choose it
as its 'main' base, where mainteinance would be a percentage cheaper than in a standard airport, and as you grow, you could create other bases on
different airports you fly to or from often. Obviously, creating and maintaining each base would cost money, but if you've got a large fleet flying to
different parts of the world, the cheaper mainteinance would make your profits bigger - or ruin you if you keep way too many bases! Besides, it would
give you a reason to establish your airline in a certain city.
2 .- Random Special Events: In real world, both cargo and airliners are sometimes transport special cargo or passengers, from humanitarian help
to movie and music stars. I'd like it if that kind of special fights were allowed on FSPassengers! I imagine a random window that appears when you're
about to start a flight:, "(insert sports team, pop star, etc) needs a special flight from (origin airport) to (destination airport). They require
(insert here class and number of places) and offer (insert here lots of money). "Do you want to accept this flight?" And, depending on the nature of
the flight and cargo, you could earn money and popularity if you do it right, and inversely, you could get problems if, for instance, you kill your
passengers, spoil a delicate cargo with an abrupt landing or mess it bigtime. so you could lose money by paying imdemnizations, and/or popularity. To
put an example, now that we're so close from Germany 2006, you could be asked to carry your national soccer team to Stuttgart, and they'd require 5
VIP seats, 25 first class seats and a few more business class seats, and if you make a perfect flight for passengers, you'll get a bonus of 1,500,000
dollars. It would be fun if FSPassengers featured something like this!
I also have got a few other minor suggestions, like adding online stores in intercontinental flights or allowing multi-scale flights so you don't need
to buy higher range planes to reach beyond those planes, but I guess I'll post those later. I've got to fly my brand new 737-300 from SCEL to SAEZ
tonight!
Keep up the good work!
