Long flight bonus

Hello all,

Can someone tell me if there are several reasons (expected for accelerated flight) which could induce an absence of bonus for flights
longer than 2 hours. I had personally the case after a 3 hour flight without any incident of not being granted a bonus and other membres
of our VA have sometimes the case as well.

You got it, if you time accel, and a 'long flight' takes 40minutes, then its not a long flight any more

This is not exactly the answer I expected.

In fact I flew a 3 hr flight w/o time acceleration but did not receive the long flight bonus. Therefore, I would like to know if factors other
than "time acceleration" can influence the "long flight bonus" and which factors they are.

Do you know about eventually penalties which could interact with the "long flight bonus" with result that this bonus is not given althought a
long flight has been done.

Well, not as far as i know, there would be no reason that would affect it, but i will leave it to other people, see if they know anything
different.

I do however know i get a long flight bonus for every flight ive done over 2hours

Bonus for long flight with satisfied passengers without using time acceleration:
The bonus will be proportional to the duration of your flight.

thats all it mentions in the manual

Please find below the flight log for which I didn't receive a "long flight bonus". Considering that I did not use "time acceleration" (I am
personnally chassing pilots not respectfull of real life flights in our VA ) and considering that this flight was perfectly normal (appart from a
very steep descent rate on final approach due to terrain ) I do not understand why I only had 78% satisfaction nor why I didn't receive the
long flight bonus.

It is the first time I have this sort of comment after a flight "Mostly uneventful apart from a few moments" and I would like to
understand why I had this comment. I would be pleased to send and submit to Daniel Poli all my flight logs for investigation as another
similar case is actually under analysis in our VA. It should be a pity if certain factors are causing this "bug"

I feel sorry to come back on this subject but as our VA is based on real flight conditions without time compression we need to trust
FsPassengers otherwise it wouldn't make sense to suggest to our pilots to use it as a black box to control their activity.

Yep: there are two things I'm missing from your report:

-Were highly entertained by the movie.
-Were in a better mood because they had food.

Although I wouldn't have thought that this counted for so much %. And it was a Cessna..

The only thing I can think of is that probably the 'long flight bonus" is only given if the flight is considered "perfect". If that's true, the
question is why is it considered an average flight. the "Mostly uneventful apart from a few moments" comment is new to me, but it might have to do
with turbulence or high altitude flying in an unpressurized aircraft.

I often fly long flights in light aircraft, and on those there is no onboard service, so showing a movie or feeding your passengers is not an option.
I never get penalty points for this. Presumably, FsP knows I don't have this option in small aircraft. In larger aircraft I do get penalties for
hungry passengers though.

You actually DO get the long flight bonus whether you use time acceleration or not, and you get credit for the simulated flight time, not the
real-world clock time. The simulated flight time is what's added to the pilots total hours as well. So this problem has nothing to do with using
acceleration, as Marc has pretty much already noted. It must be pretty much the presence of the "few moments."

The peak altitude was above 12,000 feet, so that may have had something to do with it allright. The "zero sandwitch, zero food, zero drink" just means
the inflight service was turned off, meaning it also had no effect, since there was also no indication the passengers were hungry.

My best guess is that due to barometric pressure changes and/or turbulence, the altitude did indeed briefly go above 12,000 feet, but not long enough
for an in-flight "complaint" to be logged. If the Flight cruise altitude was just below 12,000 feet, that would make this theory more likely.

I've had this happen before as well, it does seem to be if the flight isn't designated as Perfect. But there doesn't seem to be any reason why the
flight isn't perfect. I think it might be a bug too. I have a few reports, unfortunately FS isn't working at this moment, something i'm currently
working on.

Hmm, I've never had this problem. I'll always get the bonus, regardless of perfect or not, I believe...After seeing those I'd say that maybe you must
be in a jet, but I know I've gotten the bonus in a Cessna..So I don't know.
