Annoyed Passengers

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this before without searching, so anyway why do passengers get annoyed by an early arrival
doesn't seem very realistic. I work for an Airline and I can tell you most of our passengers are pleased about arriving at their destination
early. It's nice to arrive home early after a long trip, it's easier when connecting with another flight. To me it doesn't make much sense for
passengers to be annoyed by this. So why was this added to FSPassengers anyone

I guess it would depend on how early you are.

And, my take on certain aspects of FsP, are that some are a bit more heightened than what it would be in real life, such as arrival times.
Virtual passengers are a lot more b*tchy than real world pax

Maybe they are annoyed because if they have a connecting flight in 5 hours after you are supposed to arrive, but you arrive 2 hours early,
that make it a 7 hours wait. Also, if someone is to be picking them up from the airport, they woudn't be there.

In real life, planes are supposed to follow a the flightplan, and usually that get them on time. If all the planes arrive early, then that airport
would be really crowded and it would have the potential for a mid-air crash. Most of the planes would have to be put hold. If in the real
world planes just showed up when they wanted too, there'd be mass confusion everywhere. That's why in the real world, planes have
scheduled arrival and departure times, and they try hard to stay on schedule.

Yes that is true but Airlines also like to pilots to take the best possible route and use the winds etc to their advantage saving money is the
most important thing and sometimes if an aircraft encounters a good tail wind arriving at the destination 20 - 30 min early is not that
unusual so why would passengers get annoyed at that.

Depends what kind of flight your on. If its a 7 hour transatlantic flight, 30 mins won't matter. But if your on a short 50 minutes regional hop,
those 30 mins make a difference.

I have often said that the passengers are the most moaning bunch of numpties, who need alcohol to keep them happy with music(??),
movies, and food.

Indeed, I have long despaired at any reasoning, so just keep the people happy!

No, it's all not like that.
Infact, why should pax be upset to wait some extra time? If you would be exactly on time, they would spend thet extra time in the plane
anyway. Maybe they do not like to wait in airport? Well, just park at the gate and let them wait on board!
This is not true! Infact most peole prefere to relax in airport than stay onboard! There are much more interesting things to do.
So actually, most pax in reality are heppy to get early or at least they wold not be upset about it.
But, in FsPax there is different situation! Let's just say that it is anouther protection from cheating.
How? Esy! If you would not get penalised for early arrivals, you could set flight time of 30 hours for any flight, and no metter when you
arrive, you would be on time! That's stupid, so there should be some kind of restriction. In reality, pax would not check your company if it
offers 1000 miles flight for 10 hours, but in FsPax this can't be calculated realistic so it has to just limit your arrival time to the planned
from both ends.
Do you understand?
And it works! At least it is another challange to plan your flight time correctly and to make it as planned.
So, I'm happy with this.

Covoxer is right on the "cheat" reason but I disagree about pax hapyness.
This was also explained many time several month ago

First if your company say you'll arrive 4 hours later and finally your trip last
3 hours only. Pax may start to wonder if the captain will not also forget the
landing gear given he's not able to do such basic calculation.
This doesn't show a good proffesional behaviour and doesn't give much thrust.

Margin are wide enough to not have wind as an excuse. There was a serious
miscalculation somewhere, let's hope they are able *at least* to calculate the fuel needed

Now many Pax at arrival will have people that wait for them, car, hotel, another
flight or such things, some people might be happy to wait at airport but I guess
most will be annoyed, your friend are not here, your car is not ready and if you had
to wait 3 hours for the next flight you'll have to wait even more.

About challenge Cov is right anyway, if someone say he crashed because he was
stressed to arrive on time, FsP's goal is fully reached, challenge you to still
fly professionnaly under pressure.

Arriving 30 minutes early is NOT good for an airline at all.
An airline has to pay for every minute it 's plane is parked at an airport. Just like you would park your car at a garage. The plane cannot
depart earlier. So the airline has to pay for 30 minutes more parking time. And if it's a busy airport, maybe there isn't even a gate
available. At Schiphol airport it did happen that planes arrived at the gate and passengers had to wait INSIDE the plane for over 30
minutes, because there was no groundstaff available to handle the aviobridge.

So there is no advantage for the airline here to arrive that early.

FsP margin are large enough so penalty arise only when you seriously
miscalculated your arrival time.

Well, ok, it's not good to get early in reality. I was too optimistic about those waiting pax.
Though I would like to comment one argument here:

This is true. But does the company pay for the plane to stay airborn for the same time? Is it less than for parking at the most busy airport
in the world?

Agree 100%!
Time margines in FsP are proportional to the flight length, and they are wide enough to get on time even if you gen unpredictable weather
and plus one go around and some delays while taxiing...
It's not that easy to get "precise arrival" bonus point though, so it's a bit dependant on your luck, but it is definitely possible to fly
without "late" or "early" arrival penalty under nearly any wather/AI/ATC/taxxing conditions!
You just have to calculate your flight time correctly.
If you can't do it by hand, use any flight planning utility. FSNavigator for example. But you can even use FS default flight planner! It will give
you some flight time estimation if you set your speed correctly, it will be good enough. Than you just have to add about 30-40 minutes to
that time for taxiing (depending on the airport size/load) and here you go!
That easy! Maybe you'll not get "precise arrival" bonus right from the start, but you will definitely not be penalised for early or late arrival.
Just remember, that the good arrival time reserve for 1 hour flight in FsP is about a 20 minutes (from 50min to 1hr10min).
