Just noticed your tag. Do you mean pilot instead of driver because how do you drive planes when you fly them
Kind Regards

Only put a different spin on the tag, Sam. No big deal

I kinda miss our caravan. This was taken in 2012 in Fayetteville, NC. I was teaching a new guy the g1000 avionics.

Awesome! We have 10 Caravans working in the system with the G1000 package. All of the remaining aircraft have the G600, GMX200, 530 and 430 packages. I wish the company would buy a bunch of the EX aircraft with the 867 SHP engine. What a sweet airplane to fly!

yeah, that sounds pretty legit. ours were the weaksauce 208B

The 675 engine isn't all that weak...unless you find yourself with a booted airplane and in moderate icing conditions. The 675s we have do have quite a bit of time on them and are quite "sluggish"...especially if you try to compare it to a new one.

oh don't get me wrong, it's still a truck. I'm just used to flying with a bit better climb performance. and the big trucks I do fly make the caravan look like a dream!
here's my truck.... bonus points if you can identify the bird
I can tell it's a 4 engine turbo prop but have no idea :oP
But, if you fly for Jazz, I see they have twin engine turbo props. The levers in the cockpit pics obviously show more than 2

it is most assuredly a 4 engine turbo prop! I don't fly for Jazz, that's just my call sign in the military.
the above airplane is a STOL capable plane that was historically used for island hopping cargo. MTOW is a hair over 44k
A400??
Oh, and THANK YOU for your service!

Dehavilland Dash-7
and thank you for your support. that bird is ugly, slow, and really lazy in the aileron control. but it kills plenty of bad guys. I've earned 15 air medals flying either the dash7 (RC-7), the king air 300/350 (MC-12), and the Pilatus PC-12 (U-28)
05-04-2016, 08:05 PM
The Dash 7 did come to mind but I had no idea the military had them in service. Now that I think about it, the A400 isn't in service with the US military, correct? I think they are utilized mostly in Europe?
By the time I earned my civilian wings, I was 27 and considered too old to fly for the National Guard. Believe me, I hated to hear that from a recruiter. Made me wish I had started flying a few years sooner. Oh, well...timing is everything! Are you serving over seas? Either way, all of you men and women deserve our deepest gratitude!

actually, that age only applies to fighter pilots. 27 is the cutoff for jet-jockeys. 32 is the cutoff for everything else and even that is waiverable to 42 under the appropriate circumstances. matter of fact, I have a buddy who is getting ready to head out to OCS at the age of 33 to fly cargo. granted, he's currently a flight instructor at Sky West...
I'm done deploying. I've been deployed on an aircraft carrier for 3 years, been to Afghanistan 3 times for a total of 27 months, and been to south America a few times. I have zero desire to go downrange again. besides, I'm too high ranking now to do anything other ride a desk. no idea about the A400. never heard of it before.

The a400 is a beast of a plane, it does practise over my area every now and again and it is easily distinguished from the other aircraft due to the noise of the 4 turbo prop engines. I just so happen to be lucky enough to have seen one while walking home from school once
Kind Regards
