Does this thread concern real world aviation? As long as people posting in it are related to the subject, it probably does...

Now, there is no generic area in this forum, so I chose this one to post a little personal update. I might have used my gauges thread, but I
chose not to, since I haven't come around to working on those again, yet. So here's the update...

Today I am online for a change : ) It is holiday season in this country now, I'm done with my current work, have been to more parties within
the last week than in the whole past year, witnessed the first rain of the year (got volunteerly drenched, too : ), filmed my good friends
bands 5th anniversary concert, ate so much tasty stuff I still have Monty Python "Better bring a bucket" flashbacks : P , went to the coast
once again (and drank my head off at the beach, it was already kinda coldish for me to swim). Been helping my son with homework and
otherwise throughout, couldn't quite make myself to systematically see him off to school in the morning though, so my wife does that
mainly : ) So... life's okay, waiting for winter and the inspiration to go on gauging : )

Best of luck to you all, safe landings in the upcoming fall/winter, and as little weather as possible in the season : )

Good to see you post here again, Sir Den Happy "gauging" to you

This time of year always brings interesting weather events in the areas I fly in, so I'll be looking closely at what the weather is doing in
Nebraska, as I will be spending the week of the 20th flying around there.

It's my birthday today : ) I passed Christs age and am still alive, that's a plus. I am kina worse for wear, that's a minus. Overall it's all
balanced, which is fair enough I guess. I'll even throw a little party : )

Yes, we had a nice little bash indeed. A humble house party, with my family - that is wife and son - and an old friend (old... well, do 15
years of friendship qualify? I'd guess yes : ) We did get pretty pickled (excluding the kid for now) and wasted our time reminiscenting on
the good old trips and adventures and generally comforting yours trully using such terms as "not too shabby", "excellent kid", "can only get
better"... To cut the long story short, I _did_ have a good time, and still carry a rather warm feeling about my little event.

The weather here got much worse for flying recently - cumulus family all around every day. Looks stunning though, I really should film
some. A few thunderstormes passed by as well, and what do you know, there was a regular evening police Bell flying over my house
while there was lightning 3nm from us. Under the overcast, in pouring rain. Right before sunset, too. Must have been one hell of a patrol...

I've been busy recently, designing a CD cover for my friends bands new album and cycling with my son. He's really getting into it, already
nagging me for a new bigger bike (with gears! yeah!) He's 7 now, growing at an insane pace, so the new bike is in order pretty soon. For
now, he got a full lights suite for his old bike. Now we go on evening rides shining like a christmas tree on fire : )

I trust your flying is all well, despite the more interesting weather. Does the 208 handle well on wet strips with crosswind? How's the
braking after landing in those conditions? Sorry, couldn't help but ask : ) Even though I don't practice flying much nowadays, it is on my
mind every time I look at that gorgeous (if challenging) weather we have here recently.
