I decided to try to do a warfligh using captain sim's C-130 as a Norwegian Airforce pilot. I lifted of from a rainy baghdad with guns and bombs going
off in the distance, I heard the sounds almost as loud as my engines. I took off and set at my flight level of 7000 feet, it was a short transport
flight of 92 soldiers and alot of cargo. I followed the ATC and turned to 010 and expect visual runway 13. So far so good, my passengers were
frighetned due to rain and turbulence along with flying over a war zone. I was told to turn to 030 when I heard shots hitting metal, and my Co pilot
said I had hydraulic failure. My heart started beating alot faster and I started sweating some. I started scanning my area for airfields, saw nothing.
I opened my GPS and saw one to my eight o'clock so I started turning. In the middle of the turn I heard two more shots The second one made my pilot
tell me we lost our electronical system. So far I've been hit three or four times I lost count. I was lining up for my approach when suddently I hear
another shot and this time I lost my number two engine, on final! I cursed some and tried to keep cool. I was flying the plane all over the place. I
had no flaps, no nothing, The only good thing I was that I had my landing gear down. I was way to the right of the runway and made a shart left turn
and then a right to intercept it better. I just managed to straighen the plane up before I touched down. And I did one of my best landings ever made!
Please note, I used a fictional name to simulate being Norwegian, I myself am Swedish. Too bad I didn't do this on my "real" company in FsP I could
have used the bonus points!
Here's the report.
