[official] Why SWAFO was banned

The sad story of an imposter

Many of you know SWAFO where his nickname stand for "South West Airline First Officer"
this guy asked month ago to be part of the beta test team and he claimed to be a real
south west airline pilot and in this quality can have good advise and be an official
support for the credibility of FsP.

He then registered on the beta forum with the email adress: rolexparts@juno.com
and posted with various IP coming from albuquerque New mexico. This is verified
with his real adress that he sent to me to receive the free CD of FSP.
Soon given his writting wich were sometime very immature some member of the beta
team had some doubt about his status of real pilot, but as I worked often 12-14 hours at this
time to finish FSP I had no time to investigate and tought it doesn't worth the time spent
to verify. FsP had 25 beta tester SWAFO wasn't that important.


At FsP completion after 14 month of hard work I nominated several member of the beta
team to be moderator here. Soon it started that even if SWAFO had some valuable post
he started also to be arrogant and rude with some poster here and I had to warn him
many time and even refuse his ban demand against poster that simply made the fault to
disagree with him.


Two week ago he wrote inflamatory post at feelthere forum against their 737 add-on
he asked to be part of their beta team and as they refused he started to be arrogant
opiniated and even insulted the feelthere team. Curious comportment for a real pilot.
As of course he stated in first place his status of member of beta test and moderator on
FsPassengers this started a feelthere vs FsPassengers war and I received many protestation
mail and even insult mail against me and against FsPassengers.
Again this is not what we would expect from a good member of a team.
As the war was develloping on the formerly "real world aviation" forum here between
member of the two community I disabled the "real world forum"

SWAFO acts started to seriously have a negative impact on FsPassengers and on
the friendly community here.

Worse, many member there and here started to say that SWAFO wasn't a real pilot and
asked me his true identity to verify. As privacy is a serious thing I refused.

Giving the increasing damage to FsP that SWAFO was doing I started to investigate seriously.

I come to various place found a lot of things about him none related to aviation and finally
found a forum where SWAFO wrote several month ago asking basic question about 737 instrument
It's obvious in this post that he don't know the difference beetween 737 INS and IRS curious
for an airliner pilot that fly a 737 every week. Adress email verified, style verified (the famous "~Brad")
He wrote also in Falcon 4 forum and other forum nowhere he claim his status of retired military
pilot or 737 pilot. Knowing brad and his famous signature here this would be curious.


Conclusion: Brad is NOT pilot of 737 nor former military pilot.

I then spent my night in personnal message trying now to solve this bad situation.
I offered to SWAFO to stay on the forum but without claiming anymore that he's a real
pilot and giving explainaition if asked why it was not anymore moderator he refused.

Now funny stuff you would expect that one accused being a fake pilot would provide
proof, pilot ID or anything else and say "hey you moron was wrong !!!" nothing !
the main defense axe was only "I had 4000 post I had valuable contribution I must
stay" or "I know the subject why not being a pilot would cause a problem?" as if one
tell you "I fool you since month this is why it must continue" and "I know medicine why I
can't anymore write as being doctor?"

I choosed to not speak about this publicly to preserve the community until clarified,
banned SWAFO as I told him if he disagree to tell the truth and told
him that he have my mail if he change mind and goes sleep after 27 hours awake.

Of course I woke up and SWAFO wrote many post from another IP and profile
in the forum claiming his innocence and putting the trouble in the community...
funny when you know the end.

Now I deeply regreat one things: I should have dismissed SWAFO several month ago
when whe had doutb, he finally doesn't care one cents about FsP all the work I have
done or the community he care only about himself and put the trouble everywhere he goes.
Verified in this forum.

The situation is clear enough, only a pilot ID or a legal proof now could
reverse things but Brad would never give one simply because he isn't pilot.

A very sad day, i'll miss Brad, he seemed quite insightful for an imposter. However i'm here for the product and from the little i know Dan seems
fair and has gone out of his way to investigate a difficult situation and attempted to reach a compromise.
Sorry if you intented to close this thread without comments, i just wanted to offer my support to you and the rest of the team

It must have been an extremely difficult decision for Dan. In the end, FsPassengers is the most important, is what all this forum is about. So I
support Dan in this decision. I wish, like many others, things would have gone different but we should go on from here now and continue this forum as
one of the best and friendliest (imho).

Thank you Dan for the clear explanation of the facts. My support for FsP is stronger than ever within the team & this community. Dan and I discussed the situation and we agreed that something had to be done. This is it, in a way I'll miss Brad but we need to move on.

insult mail and not so much support because the majority of people that use
FsP don't care much about all those problems. I wanted to protect the community
and even brad's reputation while hidding all this problems but I didn't had the choice.
Brad made the choice to bring all this in public last night.

At worse I'll simply shut down the forum and provide only mail support. I had a dream
that a forum could help give even better support for my honnest and hard work
If by the fault of one its not true anymore FsP can survive without forum as well.
The Product is very good and I'm still decided to bring the best.

i would request that Dan does not close the forum, the community has always offered first class support, even without Brad i don't see that changing.
If people insult Dan simply because they want Brad back, well, personally i think that we can do without them. Again i'll miss Brad but he didn't
design or program the product, if you want real world aviation advice try Google, it usually has answers.

I hope that the forums can return to there former state, i for one, was pleased to have found a forum not populated by imature people, but by people
who share a common passion.
