Quote:I was wondering if anyone besides me had heard of the new Airbus A350 project.
This is a joke, right?
And now for the Airbus jab of the day:
Airbus will continue to chase after Boeing, the original.
Boeing made the first, successful jet bomber, commercial jet, short range commercial jet, jumbo jet and they pioneered new aircraft
design and development with the 777 and the online workstation (Katia - spelling?). Pretty much everything Airbus has, Boeing
originated.
Boeing 737 family - Airbus A320 family
Boeing 757/767 - Airbus A330/A340
Boeing 717 - Airbus A318 (Okay, MDC gets credit for that one!)
Boeing 747 - Airbus A380
Boeing 787 - Airbus A350
I must say though, that Airbus has done a great thing with regard to type rating. Where with Boeing/MDC products, you have different type
ratings for the 717, 737's 757, you can squeak by with only one that combines the A318, A319, A320 and A321. Saves on pilot training,
maintenance, parts, etc. Commonality - it's a good thing.
