ALTIMETER is absolutely to sensitive

I hava a homebuildt cockpit, and use CPFlight EFIS and MCP. When i climb or descent, and pasing transition level, i push the BARO knob
on EFIS. The change is done, but the systen ned a few seconds to reacting. If i climb, i push BARO button exactly at 18000 feet. But the
pressure is not set before i am at 18200 feet. This is the problem. When i finish the flight at ground, i get a stupid message. Like this:
Altimeter must be set to a standard flight level pressure setting above transition altitude, you forgot it. (-100)
This It is not normal acting. It should be at last 800 feet over or under transition altitude.
I have tried out to change pressure before and after, but my system need a few seccond before it set the right pressure.

Since youre using homebuilt cockpit it could be alot of reasons. Maybe fsp is not reconizing the changes within enough time or have you
tried to explore it without fsp and see what happens?

You said you tried setting it a bit earlier. Then why don't you stick with that? set it at 17800, that will do the trick then?

Not a FsP issue I'd say as you said it yourself, your system takes 200ft to react, my suggestion as well ? Press the button 200 ft earlier

Roy does it only happen when youre flying in Fsp? I guess the best way to figure out is to narrow down the problem. analyze then you fix...

fs9. Fly real world weather set altimeter before take off and keep setting until right before 180ft and see what happens after setting it
above 18000ft. See if fs9 tells you to press the B key or not

When dealing with the altimeter, you have a 1000 feet security marging. (i.e. you have to set it between 18 000 and 19 000), as far as I
can remember... So I think the problem is maybe elsewhere...

(The same 1000 feet margin exist for the 10 000 feet lights and speed change)

Actually, I think it's a 2000' margin for the 10'000 mark. Dan can probably confirm this is also the case for FL180

this is just a wild shot, but are you setting the barometer to 29.92 explicitly at transition or just pressing the barometer key? I think the
keypress sets to local pressure not SL (I don't recall exactly). Depending on local pressure, you could be off several hundred feet.

Actually, I think if you press "B" above the transition altitude, it will set your altimeter to 29.92. Why not just press the "STD" button on MCP
of the 737-700?

Hi Brad. I wasn't sure about that. I don't fly above transition altitude often and always set the Kohlsmann directly. I suspected that the B key set
local pressure regardless of altitude. Guess that doesn't explain it then.

No, pressing the "B" over 18 000 will set it to 2992. Pressing B below it will set it to local pressure.

The problem here is that pressing B will change nothing at Roy' homemade cockpit! He has to find a way to ajust it there.
