Which 747

Thinking of adding a 747 to the fleet and I'm after a bit of advice please.
Don't really want to be going for the full on sim of something like a PDMG but I'd like a little extra to the standard default model. Something
half way between the two I suppose.
Free is obviously better but I'd be happy to pay for something if was worth it.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Avsim will have addons for it like Sound, panels and other stuff (I like to customize my aircraft with a mixture or addons)

If you don't want to go full PMDG model, Maybe just buy FS2Crew (cheap and worth it) that will add a crew to the default 747 aswell as
add new features like a APU, pack and bleed air controls and oxygen testing.

Oh maaaaan, missing out on so much of the fun saying no to PMDG. Them guys put together an awesome model and panel and VC and
dynamics. I don't think I'll ever fly the default 747 again.

Can you fill me in with a few details about the PMDG then. The reason I said no to it was that most of the time I don’t fly with real world
accuracy and tend to just have a bit more fun. Without looking at it too deeply the PDMG seems a little too ‘real word’ and gives the
impression with things like the FMC that it’s more about programming and systems monitoring than it is about actually flying the thing.
Not been in the front seat since 1996 but I have just short of 100 hours logged and I suppose I’m flying all these other birds just the
same as I did with the small single engine things I really have flown. I pick a route, scribble down a few relevant bits of information from
the map/flight plan and set off navigating by VOR/NDB’s until I find my destination and land. Generally I don’t use the map or GPS options
at all on route.
Knowing that would the PDMG still be a worthy investment do you think? I must admit I am still tempted as it looks good and from what I
read it flies well too.

Daza, if you're looking for simplicity, the PMDG 747 is not for you. But, if you ever decided to get a more complex aircraft, PMDG is a must
