I think you'll also find that many good suggestions will come from people actually using the first product release. Were it me, I
wouldn't risk
wandering off into areas of programming that later might prove to be the wrong direction, or worse a case of wasted time and money.

Between you, me, the rest of the forum guys, and the fence post, I think you've provided more features than anyone could have asked for
in a first
edition addon already

I couldn't agree more with Decan and I'm glad he made that post. Dan as much as I love you making more things for FSP I really
wish you
could focus on the goal of wrapping things up. I know these things take time and I know your working hard. But FSP was suppose to be
out in March...then April...and now your saying that it proably won't be out in May. So please if you could focus on the things that need to be
done for your product to be released it would be really apprciated
Remeber you can always add extra features latter.

It's what I'm doing right now... I polish the things...
In freeware it would already have been released, somes stuff are missing or course
and there is still somes bug and inconciscentcy but it's playable...

But in payware it's another story, you can't release an unfinished product and FsP is not done yet...

Anyway (I'm ashamed that someone recall the mars date I'm almost sure this time it
will be out in June...

It miss bank, statistic, export feature , test, doc, voice (I have now a copilot and one hostess for that)
and RELEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAASE !!!

And believe me if I told you that I will surrelly be the most happy to have it released, it's not that I'm tired of it
but 15 hours/day it's annoying on the long run...

Anyway... thinking about your post...one things really piss me it's the bank feature...
this have nothing to do with flying and as I don't like to do it I'm somewhat "blocked"
on this (I have done somes complicated feature in two day but this one bug me since one week)

So I wonder... is bank really a needed feature ? should I not leave this and focus as you said
just on what I planned since a long time ? (statistic, export->finish)

Anyone here that badly need a bank in FsP ?

When you say "bank," do you mean where the millions of dollars are kept for buying aircraft and where the money from the airfares/cargo
gets put?

No I thought about a third party bank where you can take credit to buy more aircraft and were
you should payback your credit at each flight...

I just had feedback of two beta tester that said that they agree it's not so important..
I'll finally let drop this idea, this will shorten the dev time...

Regarding bank in FsP

In my opinion I feel that after playing FsP for a few months that I am fully satisfied with its
current features. The ticket pricing is a sufficient bonus for the program. An airline pilot
would have no control over ticket and catering pricing so what you have already is an
added feature. The good thing about having the current ticket pricing feature is for
people starting a small charter company or VA. I think the banking feature is not important
enough to delay the release. But could be a possibility in future versions.

To be able to buy a small aircraft (because of the lack of initial funds) at the begining of the career, and building up the company gradually
to have big jets is even more interresting, because you must go through different stages of flying as the company develops. Therefore I
dont think that banking is that important. Maybe at a later version...

I agree with Shane I've been watching FSP for a long time now and I must say looking at the website FSP has greatly changed for the
good. But I think it's now time for it to be released. Therefore I agree with everyone else on cutting the bank.(For now at least )

Yeah, agree, I really don't think being able to "borrow" money is that important, especially as I believe you mentioned Dan that we can set
the amount we start with anyway. So we can choose whether we take over an already established airline or start with a cessna.

So better then to have important features and a firm release date IMHO. Well that's my two cents in

Aren't we really talking about pilot performance as a benchmark for bank and not an airline's/va's ability to borrow money and pay it back to purchase
aircraft to fly?

Since I am not, sadly, a beta testor, I haven't had the opportunity to routinely deal with the current banking rules or features, but I HAVE
extensively with another, which shall be left nameless, web-based scenario. In my mind, it's a tremendous negative in an otherwise pretty damn nice
program. So I guess I'm one of those who prefer to leave the airline simulators to people who ONLY want to manage from their topside offices in a once
or twice a week dynamically updated environment.

Microsoft wanted to make their sim not a substitute for real-world flight training, but something to enlighten and draw people to a hobby, which
better than any other out there, provides a replication of real world visuals and procedures. They also saw fit to expand their own in-house flight
sim training by implementing the learning center, etc. But now that we're all trained, have many hours and experience, have flown in all sorts of
conditions of IMC and VFR, over God-knows all types of terrain, and have enjoyed (or not) flying along with the ATC controller side of the hobby via
the likes of VATSIM or IVAO, FPI, WestCoastATC.com...., the ONE things that's been missing is the constant monitoring of our own performance, a
constantly scheduled check-ride if you will, and filling all the gaps between the time we arrive at flight ops and start briefing for an assignment
and actually submitting the squawk sheet at the end of the flight. Oh, and a quick talk with the Dir. of Flight Ops should we have had a slight
descrepancy!!

THIS is what FSP is going to do for us. Hell with the bank...let the airline CFO worry about that!
