I have a good computer for using flight sim. I have 1024 mb of ram and a 512mb graphics card, i have all the flight sim settings to
maximum with no problems with perfomance however if the weather settings are set to maximum and there are clouds around it slows
the computer down big time. I wan't to know if there is a freeware weather add-on which will make the cloud's look realistic when you fly
above overcast you cannot see the ground. If there isn't any freeware add-ons what is the best settings for high performance and good
weather graphics under the weather settings in fs2004?

Clouds are always the end of your framerates Basically it is because most graphics drivers try to render your clouds using AA which is where most
of your performance is dropped. I think, depending on what card you use, there are some tweaks (like with RivaTuner) where you can greatly improve the
performance.
Of course you can try to use DXT clouds, they still look good but are slightly better performance wise
